Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.

Had a late beakfast/early lunch of fried eggs on outside table. Nothing special. Looks like the place is known for medieval food and atmosphere inside, but can't say anything about that. Service was neither particularly fast nor very friendly.

The place is really medieval, but since I went on Monday afternoon, the whole medievel experience and show was not available. Only part of the bar was in use. But we had nice beer and the staff let us check the downstairs

If you want to eat 5 of the worst courses of food you will ever eat then this is the place for you (we left after 3 ,, presuming the final 2 were the same quality as the first 3), each course seperated by at least 40 minutes, rubbish Beer and glass 70% head. Annoying loud banging drums, repetitive entertainment. I can't stress how much of a waste of your time this place , we had to leave early! AVOID

We went here for lunch after visiting Prague Castle. We did not know this was a theme restaurant. This was a fun surprise. When we walked in it was dark so we sat near the window for light. There is a clear medieval theme to the building and the staff dress. We ordered 2 beers and the waitress slammed them on the table when she came. The unfiltered dark beer is excellent and inexpensive. We ordered the sausage and goat cheese and bread which was also excellent. After we ordered the waitress put a bowl of water and a stack of napkins on the table which confused us. When the food came there was no silverware. When we asked she just smiled and "no". We then realized everyone was eating with their fingers and rinsing with the bowl of water. The bread was a great substitute for silverware. When we asked for the bill the waitress stabbed a large knife in the middle of the table with the bill attached. A fun way to have lunch. The menu is in English. The staff speaks English and they take credit cards.

Set in the medieval times, the food and waiters/waitresses in old clothing. No lighting just candles everywhere. Slamming of beers on tables and food eaten with your fingers. Please be careful as you cannot see the steps. It is so dark. They really get into the theme. We did not eat there simply because you really cannot see your food. Worth a visit just to take in the atmosphere. Not suitable for people not steady on their feet. There is a bar upstairs as well as down.

Booked the all inclusive experience for a group of 13 on a stag do. I was initially concerned that it would be a bit cheesy and not go down well with the group, however I couldn’t have been more wrong. The experience was incredible and went down a storm with the lads! Firstly, the bar itself (oldest in Prague apparently) was very cool and offers a very novel taste of historic Prague. The entertainers/staff are all in authentic costume and really play the part, right down to the wenches slamming the beers on the table, which was a nice touch! The food was excellent and the beer and wine was free flowing all evening. The entertainment value was very high and the entertainers were highly skilled in their craft. Highlight was the group participating in the traditional dancing at the end of the evening.

Only downside was that it was very hot inside but we were there in July and I guess the lack of air conditioning only added to the authentic, medieval experience.

My advice would be to book in advance and go there with an open mind. Be prepared to be transported to the past for an evening of medieval/Game of Thrones style fun!

Overall, a 5 star experience, excellent value for money and one of the highlights of our weekend in Prague. I would highly recommend for a stag/hen group and work team night out.

We had the most memorable evening at this amazing pub, dating back to 1375. We were seated in the bottom basement room, which has stone walls and candles for ambience. We opted for the 3 course dinner with 2 drinks. The food pas delicious and ample. The entertainment was amazing: musician and singer and belly dancer made at least 4 rounds, the snake, jester / juggler, sword fighting & fire blower. Highly recommendable. Excellent service by the waiters.

Went here on the recommendation of our hotel and found it to be more than a little touristy. Like something they'd book on bus tour. The food was actually not bad and the beer and wine was free flowing (although not top shelf). The entertainment was fun. The belly dancers were very good but the sword fights were a little cheesy. Seating is family style on long benches. Not overly crowded but snug. Fun to meet others over dinner and drinks. Not fine dining or high end entertainment but a fun evening none the less.
