I wouldn't say it's a park in the true sense of the word. Itțs rather a hill crossed by some alleys. Beautiful, natural, but nothing special. Here you can find the Petrin Tower, a mini-Eiffel tower, from which you have a very beautiful view of the city. You can easily reach the Ujezd funicular.

Went not really knowing what was there. Lucky no queue when we got there but 100 plus queue when we came down. Had a short walk, seemed nothing much other than garden. We paid but later found out was free if you are over 65 as is all transport in Prague.

In this park there is a nice tower similar to tour eiffel, smaller. You can go on by lift. From above you have a beautiful view on the city. There are two cafeterias: one under the petrin tower and another near, that offers good cakes, chocolate.

Petrin Park is a nice break from the crowds. The fee required funicular provides a nice ride to the top where you can stroll the beautiful gardens. There is also an observatory available near the garden. The tower is a short walk from the funicular and sometimes has a line waiting to walk the stairs or take the elevator to the top. The elevator is limited to about 5 people per trip, has an operator and is quite stable with a short ride to the top. The top deck is a terrific place to photograph Prague and has a complete 360 view of the city and environs. The deck feels a bit wobbly but was safe. The windows were mostly open so photographs were unimpeded. A wonderful place for a picnic and to enjoy the lovely park. Restrooms were available both inside the tower and outside in the park. Fees required in most public restrooms. No additional fee for the funicular going down.

You may walk or take the funicular up (purchase ticket inside before getting in line or use city tram ticket) to the top where the park has lots of fun activities for kids, beer for parents, beautiful views and fun extras like climbing the Perrin Tower (small Eiffel Tower) or visiting the fabulous Maze of Mirrors. It’s out of the crowds down in town and is gorgeous! Then walk over to the Strahov Monastery to see the most beautiful and oldest Library in Europe...and also have more beer. The extra cost to take photos is worth it at the library.

A must go destination for me on any trip to Prague I take is Petrin Hill ,lots of interesting sites up here including Petrin Tower which is Prague's Eiffel Tower and St Lawrence Church plus the wonderful views of the city ,one of the great features of Petrin Hill is Petrin Park ,a great green oasis of calm in this busy and bustling city.
Depending on what you like ,you have the well manicured Mirror Maze and Petrin Gardens or the more wild, unkempt park area's that are so beautiful ,it's so tranquil ,it's a wonderful park area to check out if you're planning a trip to Prague.

Quite a large park with many things to see and do and excellent views across the city. We walked up as the funicular was extremely busy and you need exact change in coins for a ticket from the machines. The lookout area is a lovely place to sit, admire the views and watch the world go by.

I have to admit, the area at the top of the funicular is beautiful. Gorgeous rose garden, in the fall displays of huge flowering rises in several colors. The observatory and just a very few peaceful area to be in at evening time. Then the tower walk up if you like, very safe staircase but make sure you are fit. The descend isnt too bad a few levels to stop and rest but almost a ten minute climb down. Elevator gets you to observation deck quite quickly. The breathtaking views of Prague are worth trip.

We travelled up the hill via the funicular railway, we could have walked but fancied the experience, although we queued for around 20 minutes for the privilege, buy your ticket first from the kiosk in the station or use your 24 hour travel ticket, I recommend going up the hill this way if you get breathless climbing footpaths. views from the top good but much, much better if you go up the tower which affords panoramic views right around the city and surrounding areas. The gardens are nice and well kept. Several footpaths available to descend after your visit. Put this as a must do.
