About
IAM Illusion Art Museum Prague is the first museum in the Czech Republic dedicated to illusion and trick art, located in the city centre between Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. IAM Prague's exhibitions bring to life historical illusion-making techniques in art for the 21st century, with an emphasis on selfies and social media, and invite visitors to touch and interact with all the exhibits. The exhibits will surprise you with their originality and high artistic design. Unexpected optical effects will play with your imagination and expand your visual perception of the world with new perspectives. You will see original works by Patrik Prosko, Patrick Hughes, Ivana Štenclova, Zdenek Danek, David Strauzz while you will be able to draw with light using the technique of Alex Dowis.

Neighborhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

    Funny and interesting museum
    Very unique and funny place to kill time when it was raining outside. Friends and couples will have a lot of fun taking pictures in front of the faux-reliefs but it's interesting enough for one person thanks to the many optical tricks. Special thanks to Lenka who told me more about the "metal paintings" that a Czech artist made by literally throwing flames at huge metal plates on display in the last room.
    Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review!

    Fun Day
    Had a really fun time here and very unusual. There are lots of exhibits which are all illusions and a lot where you can take part posing for a photo and get great effects. Our favourite was when one person is supposedly standing on a chair and looks really small. The staff are on hand to advise you where to stand to get the best effect and can help with photos. We found it all really clever. Spent about 2 hours here and would recommend for all ages.
    We are glad that you spent two full hours in the museum, taking photos and enjoying discovering everything that is hidden behind our project - original works of art, optical illusion experiences and the accessibility of our kind staff. Thank you for your nice review. Best regards from the IAM Prague team.

    Small but Hugely Rewarding
    The museum is pretty small but it is well worth the visit. It is best to go when it is not too crowded so you can take your time at the exhibits. Some work out pretty quickly and others take some time to figure out the best viewing points. The app is a great idea and brings the exhibits to life. Don't forget to go upstairs as there is an extra exhibit and a video on the artists behind the pieces.
    Thank you! We're delighted you enjoyed our exhibition and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. :)

    Exceptionally experience
    Exceptionally good experience. I think that IAM it’s a gem of Prague. Combining a lot of information with smart piece of art gives you a different experience. We spent here over 2 hours and it was a lot of fun. Some of the illusions were just impressive and very well created.
    Thank you for your positive feedback. We are happy that you enjoyed our museum! :)

    So much fun! Very clever and high quality art work and sculptures. One of the highlights of our trip to Prague. Numerous displays with impressive illusions. Shout out to Veronica and Aneta for helping us take great photos! A very interactive and entertaining experience. Highly recommend, short walk from the Old Town Square.

    Clever artistic illusions
    An interesting blend of optical illusions combined with the highly creative use of bric a brac/junk to create pieces of 3D art. Certainly worth a visit and fun for all ages. Friendly staff on hand to take those memorable photos. I would say the only negatives were how stuffy the rooms were and the only toilet being up a narrow spiral staircase for which you had to take a key from a staff member. However, when you got there there's a small chill out area with animal stools to sit on. Totally loved them but had to wait my turn to sit on the tortoise! The area around the museum is worth a stroll around. There's the market with traditional Czech goods for sale and some little pubs and eateries. We stopped in a pub opposite for non-alcoholic grapefruit larger (my first) and the camambert with pickle which is a popular bar snack.

    Really great fun!
    It was a great experience to see the amazing illusional artwork. The best part of the visit were the photos we took- with the great help of Barbora, who helped us finding the right angles and positions to get the most amazing results. Thank you very much!

    Great fun resulting in daft photos
    This is a really fun way to spend an hour or so . The staff are very welcomimg and offer to take bizzare photos of you with the art.I am quite small but I look teeny tiny standing on the chair next to my husband who looks like a giant. Our kids couldn't believe the daft photos we sent them. This was one of the highlights of our trip. We just found this museum we were not part of a tour, think you would end up queuing to take photos if you joined a group and would miss out on the fun.
    Thank you for your visit and review. We're glad that you enjoyed our museum. :)

    A glimpse into the future of exhibitions and museums
    We really enjoyed the visit which was very interactive and totally worth the entrance fee. The app was futuristic and made it possible to take augmented reality photos and had an audioguide with different languages. Thanks to Ylenia and Veronica, who showed great hospitality, we have great photos to take home as memories! They explained how everything works and took pictures for us. Very helpful! Thank you! Would definitely recommend!

    Thank you Veronica
    Wow. Veronica was so helpful and not only. She's pleasant, knowledgeable and spoke several languages. Keep her. She's such an asset to the musuem. You're lucky to have her. As to the museum itself, it's fantastic. I had never experienced anything quite like that and Veronica made it even more special. Thank you, thank you.

Had an extra day due to storm Ciara so decided to spend this at the museum.

Positives:
+ Fun experience;
+ Great helpful staff;
+ Nice to visit if you have some extra time to fill;
+ Good they've put spots on the floor on where to stand and where to photograph to see the illusion the best.

Negatives:
- Quite pricey for the amount of illusions available;
- Hard to photograph the illusions if you're visiting yourself.

My friend and I found this museum by accident but we decided to go in and explore it. As soon as we stepped in we were welcomed by pleasant staff who later introduced us to the artworks and even helped us take pictures. We had an amazing time in the museum, so if youre a fan of optical illusions, i totally recommend this museum.

We knew we were in for a treat the moment we struck up a conversation with Karla at the ticket counter. She not only spoke to us about the museum, but she also taught us so much about Czech life and culture.
The museum’s rooms are filled with eye popping illusions that kept my husband, daughter (14) and I entranced for over an hour. I highly recommend this museum to anyone looking for a wonderful memory of Prague.

The museums location is perfect, so when you are travelling in the centre, it is easily accessible. You can spend around 2-3 hours here easily, and kids will love it specially. The guides there will help you explain all the illusions and also help you in taking perfect pictures. The guide Vivek suggested me where to stand and how to pose and he took perfect pics of me with the whole illusion. I had fun there. One should defininitley visit when in Prague!

This was an excellent experience, so much fun! I especially want to thank Matěj for guiding me through the museum, telling me fun facts, taking the pictures from the best angles and sharing tips to pose in front of the camera. Thanks to Matěj the art really came to life in my photos. I visited the museum around 7pm and it was a good time as I had plenty of time to check each artwork.

We spent a pleasant time exploring all the exhibits, many of which encourage audience participation.
Staff were on hand to both advise how to get the best experience, and to take pictures for you so you could take away a record of yourself within the artworks.
Veronica and Tomas made our, and other visitors visits even better than they might have been.
Some visual tricks may not be immediately obvious to some, so their input is of a great help.
There are sculptures, paintings and scientific demonstrations, all of which added up to a very enjoyable experience.
