My twin brother and I were exploring around the wonderful Strahov Monastery Complex and while heading to catch a tram 22 to the Lesser Town ( Mala Strana ) we passed these statue's in honour of Tycho Brahe ( 1546-1601 ) & Johannes Kepler ( 1571- 1630 ) who were astronomers and mathematicians who were leading exponents in the scientific motion of the planetary system, the statue's are well detailed, so photogenic, if you're near Pohorelec it's most definitely well worth checking out.

Johannes Kepler was a German who gained notoriety as mathematician who studied space in Bohemia and began to apply mathematics to Astronomy. In this effort he worked with astronomer Brahe. We simply happened by this statue on our Segway trip to the monastery. My kids were talking about Kepler and it jogged my memory. Neat statue to science. I also always liked that Kepler was a scientist who was deeply a christian and saw not problem in the two.

Bumped into this hopping off tram 22 on my way to the Castle, hoping to avoid the queues (no such luck) and save myself a trip up the stairs (looong). Here are two famous astronomers, Tycho Brahe and Kepler. Tycho provided Kepler with a lot of data based on the study of which Kepler became famous. Cool photo opp.

Heading up to the Castle area ,alighting the tram your greeted by the statues to two luminaries of astronomy Namely Tycho Brahe and Johannes Kepler.
Tycho Brahe ( 1546 - 1601 ) was a Danish astronomer and writer ,Johannes Kepler ( 1571 - 1630 ) was also an astronomer, astrologer and mathematician, not sure what the connection with the placement of the statues but they are well detailed and make for some great photographic opportunities
Easy to locate on Keplerova, tram 22 drops you off practically by the statues .
Well worth checking out if your in the area.
