Neighborhood: Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

This was probably the best bar we went to in Prague and we went to a lot! Would recommend to everyone, the staff are so knowledgeable and even if you don’t like absinthe they have great cocktails (especially the zombie) and a selection of soft drinks too. Located close to the main square, such a nice design inside and wee things to look at on the wall. It’s a really quirky place and it was my favourite place we went to. Highly recommend that you visit this place. Also it was decently priced considering you are getting very strong and good quality alcohol. I think it was around 200 for a cocktail but it was big and 100% worth it.

What a fantastic place to visit, if you really want to experience absinthe properly without all the silly faces afterward then this is the place. Very knowledgeable staff and very friendly. We had a great time there and it was really nice to enjoy the drink for the first time. Would definitely go again if back in Prague.

After seeing so many absinthe bars in Europe we finally decided to give one a try. The waiter was very good about explaining the difference between French & Czech methods and helped us determine which we'd like better. We went with his recommendation (which was the most expensive Czech absinthe but hey, we expect them to upsell when we're letting them choose!!). Was 375 CZK for 2 small drinks so it's not cheap, but you do get free water and chips with the drinks. Overall it was a neat experience, decor was very cool and we never felt out of place or rushed at all.

This was hands down the best spot to sample Absinthe in the city, and I tried them all. They have a second location just down the street, but you want this one if you're actually interested in exploring this wonderful elixir. Their staff knows their stuff, and is able to make suggestions based on your experience or lack thereof.

It IS very small, so larger parties may have trouble getting a seat. The other location is much bigger, but the staff seems a bit less savvy and more "feed the drunks shots of burning absinthe." Still. Their selection is very impressive, and miles ahead of their competition in New Town...

Have just come back from Prague..We stumbled across this by accident, the Absinthe bar / cafe is located west of the Old Town Square on a corner. I've read about Absinthe but had never tried it before. The waitress was very helpful, explaining and recommending Absinthe to try. We opted for the Beetle Absinthe..very smooth and warming....a really good experience and worth visiting to try if you find yourself near the Old Town Sq.

After enjoying the Absintherie near Karlova, we went to this one and I loved the bright Van Gogh inspired murials on the walls. The staff were also friendly and welcoming and helped us with making choices for cocktails. In fact, both branches are great to come to if you want to enjoy the beautiful rituals and tastes of decent absinth - or at least an introduction to absinth. We had a absinth - with the fountain and a cocktail - both were incredibly enjoyable - and strong (beware). It was a really special experience.
It is well worth a visit and to have a drink.

When in Bohemia you just have to have a visit with the green fairy and doing so at the Absintherie bar is an absolute must when in Prague! The choices available is incredible, between us we tried 4 cocktails - the zombie, the raspberry ramble, gingerbread mule & mojito all delicious, the mojito & raspberry ramble being the stand outs! The staff here where also great super friendly and this was the only place we visitited in Prague in 4 days who actually served water at the table!! The prices are also very reasonable plus if you visit between 5-7pm its happy hour with 20% off your drinks 👌🏻
