Interesting museum to spend an hour in when the weather outside is bad or you have time to kill before your flight. Everything is looking tired and the place is in dire need of updating. We did find some of the translations to English added some dark humour to the exhibits!

I was expecting much better regarding the location of the museum. Actually I felt annoyed by the circumstances. No toilet, bad receptionist, noisy....we are living in a digital world and I believe they could have at least a screen showing more than the old middle-aged paintings. Someone could hide and scare us while entering in a room or at least... More

I though it would be better, but it was quite boring. 6€ is too high price for this, took us 15 minutes to see everything. And the man in the sales booth probably hated his life, or at least it seemed that way.

I had an opportunity to see some of these devices back home in Belgrade, Serbia last year, and I really liked it. So I had to check if it's going to be much different. I can say that it was interesting, some of the devices weren't brought in Belgrade, so I had a chance to see something new. Also, you... More

There are a lot of pictures and some real torture equipment. Human being can be very inhuman, very very cruel. First time I watched every single exhibit, in a museum.

Well, reading through the opinions here I thought it is going to be pretty cool as I really like medieval history but this was just...dissappointing. Admission was around 160kc which is not little compared to other places we went (you can get an amazing meal for this in restaurants) so I expected it to be something more, while it is... More

An interesting place, won't take long either. Good that it's in several languages. But I wonder if any of the items are genuine. It's worth the price, maybe a bit expensive, but no regrets.

Very dull. Museum was empty (no one but us) with a lot of information just taken from the internet (I did a unit on witch craft and drama in my English degree and I learnt nothing new here)! Museum was very dingy with small fonts that you could barely see. We didn't know of the equipment was authentic or not.... More

The torture museum is cheap, around 6 euros for an adult, and we took around half hour to see everything. It was interesting but I think they could make the placards with explanations with a bigger font. Good to kill some time, and interesting to read about different torture techniques.

I was shocked, to say the least. You can see the evil in human nature. It is almost unbelievable that people could preoccupy themselves to create instruments to torture others. It is a very sobering place. It reminded me of the fact that the Bible says that the some power that did these evils during the Medieval Times will do... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
