We signed up for the “Prague Castles” tour, and we were glad that the owner of this tour company, Michal, was our guide. His sincere enthusiasm and well rehearsed script provided an informative 2.5 hour tour. He’s been providing tours for 4 years, and his experience shows.
He carried a portable microphone which helped to amplify his voice. And he entertained our group of 20 by allowing us to get “points” for answering trivia questions throughout the tour. This resulted in some friendly competition and lively discussion throughout our tour. The winner with the most points, won a nice surprise gift at the end.
Our tour started at 3pm and this turned out to be great timing because when we arrived at the castle around 4:30pm, the security check line only took us 10 minutes. ( Apparently, the security check line can easily creep up to a 45 minute wait ). The good news is that you can simply set aside your electronics and walk quickly through the metal detectors. No airport like machines to worry about.

I highly recommend this kind of tour in general and the ones offered by Free Walking Tour Prague in particular. They show you how to move across the most famous places in Prague and in the meantime you also learn about the history of the city and his rulers. Our guide (Amanda) was super friendly and she shared with us a lot of tips and useful information to avoid tourist's traps. We will definitely do the other tours they offer next time we will visit Prague.

First and foremost, our guide was incredible! Vaclav is a very nice guy, who has vast knowledge in history of the city (and in general), places of interest and memes about Czech Republic president =)
It was two and a half hour walk which started at the Charles Bridge and continued along the so called Royal Way towards the Saint Vitus Cathedral. We knew a lot about the bridge itself, the Vltava river, history of John Lennon Wall, Prague Castle and much more.
Unfortunately, we haven't been on any other Prague walking tours, but I think all of them are absolutely worth it.

We took part in 2 free walking tours of Prague together with Chris our exceptional guide. The first tour was in the morning in the Old town and the Jewish quarter while the second was about Prague Castle and Charles Bridge during the afternoon.
Both tours lasted 2.5 hours and were very interesting and full of information that made us know Prague in a more thorough way. The journey we took was not tiring, on the contrary, we made several stops at the crucial points where Chris provided us with anecdotes and curiosities that otherwise we would not have known.
In addition, Chris gave us valuable advice on restaurants and attractions to visit even outside the city center and we followed his advices, remaining more than satisfied! We definitely recommend booking both of the tours offered by the company.

We had a really interesting tour with Amanda. She brought a lot of personal stories to the tour which really brought the history to life. She was funny and sweet and covered a lot of information over a short period of time.
This tour is actually quite short in terms of actual walking so is really accessible even for those who might have trouble walking long distances.

We went on the Old Town walking tour with Tony and it was awesome - the guide was very knowledgeable, funny, and full of interesting facts and stories. Despite the cold, our group had a great time and I highly recommend this walking tour to get to know the history and sights of old town. Because we were a larger group, we paid a small fee per person ahead of time when reserving our spots.

I have taken a few walking tours in numerous cities but have to say that this one with Michal was easily the best. He is a charming and kind man with lots of wit and numerous fun facts and unique elements to his tour to keep you entertained. The walk was well planned and insightful giving me (and my friends) a far greater understanding of the city and history behind it! Thank you, don't hesitate to book!

I done the tour today of Prague Castle and charge bridge. It was great and I thoroughly enjoyed learning
The history on the tour. Tour guide Chris was extremely knowledgable and knew what he was talking about. So 5 stars for me.
Chris on a side note: I didn’t have any cash on me, I carry revolut card as it gets me best exchange travelling so did not have cash to give you the money you deserved for the tour. So this goes out to chris if you could personally give me your email so I could arrange a payment to you for your services I would appreciate it. Thank you.

The trip was great! Lana makes a very unique and attentive guide that makes sure that all the people walking with her are animated are going through the experience effortlessly. Her knowledge of Prague and its history is truly impressive. She knows how to present all the information in a very passionate and honest way which makes the experience much more personal and impactful. I would definitively recommend exploring Prague with her as she mixes all the information needed for understanding the city’s past and facts about it’s present. Amazing experience!

Great tour of the old town! Our guide Amanda really knew her history and gave a personal touch due to her close contacts with the city after her family moved to Canada in the 70s (before she was born). As well as the history provided, there were also tips on getting about the city, shops & getting the best deals. Would highly recommend, would need to be able to walk / stand for prolonged durations.

Hello! Thank you for your enquiry. The tours are usually around 2.5h and the cost...well, it is up to you :) "Free walking tour" means we operate in the "pay-what-you-wish" model. If you can afford it, we recommend 200-250 Czech crowns per person, which is around 8-10 euros. But there is no pressure and it really depends on your budget.
