Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na PĹ™ĂkopÄ›, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafĂ©s, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

Great toy stores are hard to find anymore. FAO Swartz was the last I can recall in the US. However, Prague has the best toy store I have ever seen. Hamley's is on a main street, not far from the Old City Gate. Numerous employees are available to assist and many are actually playing(demonstrating) with the toys. A full size merry-go-round operates just inside the main doors. The positive energy from this place will put a smile on anyone.
This is definitely a 'must see" when visiting Prague.

Although I didn't spend anything here, this place should make any adult feel like a child again. Many life size action figures throughout the store such as Spider Man, Hulk, Storm Troopers, and Iron Man among others. The staff is friendly and helpful as they demonstrate many of the hot toys for this Christmas season.
To top it all off, there is a working Merry Go Round where your children can get a ride.

Hamleys is one of the biggest toy store chains in the world. This Hamleys is probably one of the biggest if not the biggest one. It has merry-go-round, a slide which goes from one floor to another and as well as a large collection of toys which can awestruck kids as well as adults.
I would highly recommend people to stop by this place if they have some spare time and would like to do something different on their trip to Prague.

While the store has an impressive selection of toys and interactive playthings, many of those interactive displays didn’t work during our visit, and most of those that did required hefty admission prices. We’d been there three years ago, and since that time the whole store appears not to have been cleaned. Additionally, the price of the toys is high. The final insult came after we spent nearly 2000 crowns on toys, and were shocked to discover that they charged 25 crowns to use the restroom! Unless it’s for a particulal toy unavailable anywhere else, I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Nice to visit. Enjoyed life size Captain America and other toys. I should have just enjoyed what was there to look at and not have purchased anything. This store is way overpriced. Since I did not quickly convert CZ money to Euro, I was shocked when the total for a 3 inch tram keychain was 9 Euro. If there had not been such a language barrier and people behind me, I would have asked that the transaction be voided. The same keychain was 2 Euro everywhere else!! I felt taken advantage of, but thank goodness it was only 9 Euro! Enjoy the sights, but Buyer Beware!

A large toy store that has very little to do with Prague.
Yet it is enormously popular and it is easy to see why. It is similar to an amusement park and you don't pay a fee to enter.
if you are visiting without children a visit may cost you nothing. Bring children and it will be another story, for sure.
In contrast, a tiny toy store called Rocking Horse - in the Hradcany area - sells hand made Czech toys and is a wonderful place to visit too.
It is always good to have choices ....

If you know about Hamleys toy stores then you don't need to read any further, if not then just read my review title. This toy store is like something from a movie. Mainly it is an extravagant two story toy store with all the toy brands you will normally find in the Czech Republic. Warning! All the toys here are more expensive than in most toy stores in the Czech Republic. Frankly, the only reason we went in there was to see the decorations. There are employees demonstrating some toys, and places where kids can play. In the basement is an overpriced Lego exhibit that isn't worth the cost. If you visit, I would recommend just walking thru, and then saving your money to buy from another store.

I went into the Hamleys store late afternoon when it was quiet after seeing Marvel and Harry Potter items on display.
I walked into the store, no more than 15 metres and got asked what I was doing and what I wanted in English (Not in a nice way either) I told the member or staff what I was looking for and they didn't help and ignored my response.
I walked through the store to find the sections I was looking for to be stopped by a member of staff playing with drones, controlling them very close to people. He stood in my way telling me I had to try the drone, I had no interest in it. He went on to say I would probably break it anyway. I ignored him as I didn't want to rise to his ignorance.
I found the Harry Potter section I was looking for and had a look but I already had the items which were displayed so proceeded to leave. Again to be stopped by the drone coming very close to my face.
I promptly left the shop without looking anymore as I didn't feel comfortable or wanted in the shop.
Picture as proof I was in the store.

Incredible. The laser tag, slide, mirror maze and butterflies were great. The toys were so-so, pretty much anything you can get elsewhere. The staff was what made it. The drone guy "MO" was great with our very shy kids. Cannot recommend this place enough. Went two days in a row and could have gone back for more. Adults liked it just as much as the kids.

This shop used to be called hamleys but is now called the playground. But it's still the same as hamleys inside. Brilliant place for small and big kids. Has a carousel. Laser games, game machines on the top floor. (Have to pay to play)
Great selection of toys for all. Be warned you will not want to leave. Also a cool slide from the top floor.

Hi, are children under 3 free for any of the attractions? Otherwise would they charge for an infant under 12 months? Do the wash closets have baby changing tables?
Written September 6, 2019
Hi there was no charge for anyone going into Hamleys. Most places in Europe have suitable bathroom and parent facilities.

How much does it cast to see lego and butterfly?
Written August 24, 2019
I dont think it cost anything at Hamleys. The Lego Museum did charge an entry fee which was equal to only a few dollars.

Can i pay for toys with the hamleys card or is it only to pay for the attractions?

How much to see Santa and do you have to book?
We are there next weekend and would love to see Santa abroad

Sorry, you would have to ask on the Hamley’s website. We went to the butterfly farm there which was well worth it !!!
