Neighborhood: Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

The lifesize models are incredible and we really enjoyed walking around and discovering all of the different horror franchises with their memorabilia. There were also clips of old horror movies playing on screens which was entertaining. The service was also brilliant. Highly recommended if you like horror!Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 13, 2024
- Pub Monster NeilLiverpool, United Kingdom82,706 contributionsGood barNightmare Prague Horror Bar is a bar I always enjoy visiting on any holiday I take to this fascinating city, been here before on previous holidays to Prague, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. It's a horror themed bar ,its a cellar bar, its very cool ,lots of gory mannequins and film posters to scare you ,a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this multi roomed bar,its just a great bar to chill out in. We were here on a cold and rainy March night but this bar was toasty warm, we luckily managed to get a table as this bar was busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered beers from Staropramen Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and they should be as well as the huge Staropramen Brewery is only a 5 minute tram ride from this bar,we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular bar. My beer was really good, golden, light and hoppy, bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this bar, it was just so good being in such a unique bar enjoying a quality beer and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world, we ended up staying for two beers each before we moved on and as on every other visit to Nightmare Prague Horror Bar we had a great time. Nightmare Prague Horror Bar is easy to locate along Ujezd. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,4pm till 2am. Well worth checking out if you're in the Smichov district of Prague.Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 16, 2024
- Leon HHalifax, United Kingdom99 contributionsReally cool place. This place is sooooo cool. You actually get a bit freaked out walking down the spiral staircase to the bar and when you get down there is like a wax museum of horror. Totally awesome and they play rock music to add to the vibe! Beers and cocktails are reasonably priced and very good! A must visit in Prague.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 20, 2024
- RabM79🏴Glasgow, United Kingdom207 contributionsMy favourite bar in the cityThis was my favorite bar in the whole of Prague, our hotel was just around the corner so it was the first place we came to once we dumped our belongings and had a great time, we took many pics, drank beers and tried varies shots and best of all was the price. We arrived back at the bar on our last night, it was the first place we drank in in Prague and now the last place also and the barman recognized us from a few days earlier and welcomed us back with a big smile on his face. The bar i would well recommend and the bar staff are so friendly and I hope to return soon.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 21, 2024

It’s like an underground cavern and there’s a surprise at every turn. Unique cocktails and good selection of other drinks. We spent a good few hours in here one night! It was a week night so it wasn’t super busy but the vibe was great. Rock music playing - it wouldn’t really suit any other kind really! Decent prices and nice staff. A must for horror fans!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 27, 2024

- Anthony M9 contributionsA must experience for Horror and Halloween fansWe found this place on trip advisor and other travel blogs as a must place to visit. We booked a week in advance and it was good that we did as the bar was fully reserved all night. We had a selection of cocktails, beers and bar snacks. The atmosphere was brilliant and the staff so friendly. A perfect place to spend a few hours hidden from the outside world. The bar is a must for horror and Halloween fan's. If you like Tulleys Farm Shocktoberfest you will love this place to spend time and chill. Fantastic value for money with 7 cocktails, glass of wine, 2 beers and 3 bowls of nachos and dips coming in for 60 pounds, bargin. Found out about the Nightmare bar a few years ago, and last night, we had the opportunity to visit and see my partners birthday in there. When you arrive, everything is lit red, and it sets the mood for the theme of the bar. The walls are covered in horror movie posters, with several sets of spiral stairsto walk down before reaching the bar.
Once inside, the area is fully decorated with life sized horror characters ranging from Reagan Mcneil (The Exorcist) laying on a bed, covered in pea soup green vomit, directly over the bar, to a Caged Haskins/grumpy (Gremlins) alongside a table with a note of the three important rules to follow by his feet.
The menu has a wide selection of horror themed drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, that look equally as good as they taste. We decided to order a slasher sized reanimator and a Michael's Knife, along with a blood bath and a spilled guts shot to start before taking a seat at the back. Here, there was a screen showing all the old horror movie trailers, which was a nice nostalgic touch.
Later into the evening, we made friends with another couple who came to Prague from England, who joined us and made the night that extra bit more special.
Our barmen Zach & Alex were extremely polite and friendly and helped make our evening a night to remember. Great bunch of guys working there!
It was such a memorable evening, and I will be returning again soon! If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend going, horror fan or not!

Wow what a great place this is, probably the best bar I've ever been in and I've been in a few.If you are a horror fan like myself this place should be an absolute must on your places to visit whilst in Prague and if your not its well worth the visit anyway. The attention to detail and thought thats gone into the place is what makes it special, everything from the creepy music and sound effects playing in the background as you enter down a spiral staircase covered with movie posters to the lifesize models of various movie characters including Ash (The Evil Dead) , Michael Myers, Pennywise , Jigsaw and Reagan from The Exorcist laid in bed suspended from the ceiling directly above the bar to name a few, the lighting to various props and tv screens playing snippets from various horror movies.
They mainly play alternative rock stuff here, mainly metal but also a bit of grunge and punk stuff, which is good in my book would have been happy to go to a place just for the music OR the horror stuff so to have both was great. Heard them play some top tunes by the likes of Rob Zombie , Alice in Chains and Misfits etc
Onto the drinks, they have a massive selection of drinks to choose from here. Our group ended up coming here 3 times we liked it that much. The first time i just drank the beer which was reasonably priced. The other 2 times gave some of the cocktails a try which were quite fun and quirky especially 'The ReAnimator' each cocktail came with a glass with the movie character that was associated to the cocktail e.g.The Chainsaw came in a glass aptly with Leatherface on it which was a nice touch.
The bar staff here were all great, it was different people on the different nights we went in, but all were friendly and polite. It's all table service here as well so there's no queuing waiting to get served.
Overall its a unique and fun experience and its well worth a visit even if you call in for one drink and also there's a little games room at the back too which is a nice touch

Loved it in here, just about all the horror films I could think of were somewhere, either on a poster, a life size dummy, on the walls or the video link with advertisements continually playing on a loop. All the time there was what I would say heavy metal music playing through the speakers.
I'm not exactly sure what I expected but it was good, you go down some steep spiral steps to the basement, even the door creaks when you open it. The decor is dimly red throughout and the whole feel of the place was quite relaxed. It wasn't full being midweek but I can imagine a good night out on a busy weekend here.
The staff were very pleasant and friendly, the prices were good too and they had a good selection of horror themed cocktails which were difficult to read being on a black and red menu in red lit rooms.
Well worth a visit, at the current time of writing my review you need a covid vaccine proof.
I'll definitely be back here on my next visit

What could’ve been a great experience was absolutely tarnished by the rude bar staff that served us. We are not ones to normally leave bad reviews but our experience was so unwelcoming and we witnessed other customers being spoken to rudely as well. Either they need more staff to meet the high demand or not take your bad day out on paying customers. After multiple rude encounters, we were patiently waiting to pay the bill while the lady behind the bar was busy making drinks and serving other customers. We were being polite and waiting for her to address us however she rudely spoke to us about staring at her. Next time we know to interrupt her and demand to pay the bill immediately instead of waiting patiently at the bar.

We arrived in Prague at 10.30 pm and visited this bar as it was opposite our apartment. It is not the largest place but is brilliantly decorated with artwork and 3D figures from popular horror movies - Freddie Kruger, Jason, and others. It's such an atmospheric place all draped in red lighting, with a good selection of drinks. It's definitely worth a visit.

If you’re thinking of going to have a drink or two I would highly recommend booking in advance. We were lucky to find a reserved table (1h before it was required) for a quick drink. Small menu but cool decor.

Came here after seeing a video on Instagram, and absolutely loved it!
Really cool horror themed bar with cocktails. Considering it's one of the more touristy places in Prague, it was still only around £5.50 for a cocktail, which I felt was very reasonable. The cocktails were really nice and all horror themed
It's quite a spacious place, with table service. We went during a quieter time midweek, but I imagine it gets busy at weekends.
Definitely a must visit place when going to Prague.

They really pay homage to the genre - posters, statues, music, scenes, red lighting, it's a great horror based experience.
The shots were great -Zombie Embryo was sufficiently gross looking but tasted great. The cocktails were good but nothing special, and it was very quiet due to COVID.

Baretto "Horror" interesting, reservation is recommended.
Wide choice of drinks, both soft and alcoholic, soft drinks or hot drinks, shots or cocktails, there is almost everything.
We say the idea is nice and the staff is nice. Prices in average Prague, a cocktail costs around 8 euros.

stopped here for a drink on way back from another tour.
Id seen this place online and wanted to stop here.
It's understandably dark in here so not easy underfoot.
We was seated at a table but we never had a reservation so was not able to stay long which was not an issue as we only wanted a drink anyway.
prices are expensive for what you get. I paid extra for extra alcohol but it still tastes like single shots. Service took ages considering they wanted us out quickly so keeping us waiting 12 minutes before returning to take our order was surprising.
The decor was good and is the best bit about this bar
