The Vinohrady water tower building was created in 1882 by the Architect Antonin Turek.
The seventh floor originally contained a tank that could hold 200 cubic m of water, that was pumped from the River Vltava until 1912.
In 1993, the inside was converted to accommodate offices and apartments.
In 1991 the tower was listed by the Czech Ministry of Culture.

One of the landmark structure's in the wonderful and diverse district of Vinohrady is Vinohrady Water Tower.
Constructed in 1882 ,this former water tower was one of several that are dotted around and city that provided a water supply to all areas of the city, this one provided water to this district obviously, its one of the most photogenic buildings in this area of the city and easy to locate along Korunni.
Well worth a few minutes of your time if you're in Vinohrady district.

One of the most recognisable structures in the Vinohrady District is Vinohrady Water Towr.
Constructed in 1882 ,this tower was once an essential water tower serving this district of town ,as water supply methods became more modern this tower became redundant ,this tower now serves as an office building,it still looks superb, very photogenic, makes for some great photographic opportunity ,it's most definitely well worth seeking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Korunni.

This water tower has stood here since 1882 and is a landmark building in the city, there are quite a few towers here and they illustrate how the path of the River Vltava has changed over the years, water towers were essential for the growth of the city, there now all more or less redundant but this one has been converted into office use,it looks cool and is most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area of Vinohrady.
From stop Námestie Miru, tram number 10,16,23,91 to stop Vinohradska Vodarna drops you off at the tower.
Well worth checking out .

Another tower around the city. Used as a water tower in the past. Looks really nice. Would be nice if you could learn more about it.

You will notice that Prague has a lot of old water towers dotted around this most gorgeous of cities, although you may pass them without giving them a seconds thought they were in fact esssental to the growth of this city and pinpoint how much the River Vltava has changed course over the years.
Vinohrady Water Tower is one such tower ,it's certainly very eyecatching and dominates the immediate area.
We visited this tower as we were heading to the superb brewpub Viniohrady Pivovar .
The water tower has stood here since 1882 and is a landmark building in this area,I believe it's now been converted into offices but it still looks amazing.
Vinohrady Water Tower is easy to locate, from Namesti Miru jump tram number 10.16.23.91 to stop Vinohradska Vodarna which drops you off at the tower.
Well worth checking out.
