Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Majestic Government Building

Visited on Thursday 12th October. What a majestic building which commands such an important place below Prague Castle and across the Vltava River from the Old Town. You also get to see it as you cruise along the river as well.

The Parliament House across the street

The view from the Parliament must have been break-talking, as you take in the entire view of the Old Town from across Vltava. There are often boat cruises that run along the Vltava past the Parliament which would have given you a closer look at the seat of power in the Czech Republic.

A beautiful government building

Straka Academy or Strakova Academi is seat of the Czech Government. It is a magnificent Neo Baroque Building next to the Letna Park. The building was completed in 1896. Count Jan Petr Skraka got this building allocated for the poor children of the Czech nobility. So it was used as a student residence for them. After WWII when the Czech Government needed mote space for it's offices this building and it's beautiful gardens was taken over.
