Neighborhood: Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

We booked the morning ritual experience. This was excellent value for money and began with an amazing breakfast in one of the prettiest restaurants with stunning chandeliers. We felt totally spoilt form beginning to end. I am also a massage therapist so wanted a totally pampering experience. The massage was excellent and the attention to detail was thorough e.g. a detailed medical history and a choice of beautifully scented oils. The spa was wonderful and we had it all to ourselves. I would highly recommend and definitely visit again.

I neither drank or stayed at this hotel but I did have a coffee and a Thai massage in their spa. The lobby and spa area were sumptuous, clean and welcoming. The staff could not have been more pleasant. It was an excellent massage and the shops in the area are out of the ordinary as well so it would be worth the trip just for that.

We tried the Fairytale Afternoon package and absolutely loved it. When we arrived we were give two large glasses of prosecco and a platter of fruit, this set the tone for a luxurious afternoon.
My only gripe was its a small spa (the pool is tiny and right by the relaxation area) and there were kids using the pool and relaxation area (loudly as kids do) while their mother took photos, not ideal for what's meant to be a relaxing, quiet time.
We used the sauna and pool for an hour before our massages. For some reason the steamroom is located in the men's changing room so that wasn't an option for me!
We then selected the type of massage we wanted and the oils we preferred. Our massages were brilliant, the staff are truly talented.
After we were done we had a 3 course meal with wine and bottled water in the restaurant. This was delicious. You order from the main menu without restrictions/supplements which is refreshing. Honestly couldn't fault the food or the staff. It's a fine dining restaurant so if you're going for this package I'd advise bringing a shirt/dressy outfit for after the spa!
€135 each for 5 hours of luxury was a bargain.

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for sharing this positive review on your recent visit to the Ecsotica Spa and Aquarius restaurant at Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa with the TripAdvisor community.
It is a pleasure for me to read that you enjoyed our special ‘Fairytale Afternoon package’ and had brilliant massages and delicious dinner in our beautiful restaurant. We believe we have really great therapists and they do their very best to make our guests feel pampered and relaxed.
We are sorry if your relaxing time was influenced for a while by spontaneity of the kids. This can occur sometimes and we really try to gently regulate the situation, even if such moments are a little bit sensitive on how to be approached.
Our hotel represents a unique complex of the historical buildings and has been restored to provide our clients with all possible modern comforts while at the same time, it has retained its historical charm. Unfortunately there wasn 't enough place for a steam room in the changing room for women but we are pleased we can offer our guests separate saunas, gym, pool and wonderful relaxation area with its original, 18th century Chinese bed.
Madam, thank you again for your lovely review. We will pass your kind words about the food and the attentive service of our colleagues on to the team of the Aquarius restaurant. We are sure they will be thrilled.
I sincerely hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to our Ecsotica Spa and Aquarius restaurant in the near future.

My husband treated us for a fairytail package that included use of the spa some fruit and tea, a massage and a dinner.
We were welcomed in a proffesional way and went to the spa where we got a drink and fruit. the pool was to cold to just be in and too small to swim in. There was also kids playing so there was no way to relax.
The massage was proffesional but ruined by loud not fitting coverversions of rock songs.
After waiting to be shown the dinner area we were looking forward to a good meal. Dissapointing food. Good but nothing spesial. Slow and unprofessional service. The wine was not good and did not match the food. he dinner took over 3 hours for 3 courses! I had to return the main course. No appologies for not eating together. My husbands was on the edge for returning his. When I got the cheese after half an hour no one could tell me the names of the cheeses even when I asked.
We got some small tokens for the problem. But not enough to feel that we were guest you took seriously or took care of.
I would say the michelen sign is misleading. It looks nice but there is not the proffesionalism you would expect from a place like this.

Dear Guest,
first of all thank you for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor.
We always appreciate our clients sharing their thoughts and opinions on their time with us. We see it as a great opportunity to learn and improve our services.
Thank you for your feedback regarding the music in the Ecsotica Spa and we are sorry if your relaxing time was touched for a while by spontaneity of kids what can occur sometimes and we try to gently regulating the situation, even if such moments are bit sensitive on how to be approached.
Regarding dinner we strongly believe in the high food quality of our cuisine and we got very positive comments that day especially on the seafood platter, which we served to more than 7 guests in the evening. We served the wine to different hotel guests as well and all of them shared good feedback with us or my colleagues.
Since we have already replied to your emails and your husband met us personaly ( Food and Beverage Manager, Hotel Manager, Spa manager ) the next day after your Fairytale Afternoon experince, I will direct my reply to the Tripadvisor community.
I would like to say thank you to all of the wonderful guests coming here to genuinely enjoy their visit with us. We are there for you and our aim is always to make your stay as memorable as possible. This factor was, and will remain, our genuine philosophy. We also like our guests to feel they receive an excellent service for what they pay for, hence when they leave with dissatisfaction, we cannot leave this issue unsolved. This isn’t what The Alchymist Luxury Group known for.

I can only speak for the massage I received. I did not use their pool or sauna.
I booked a 90min massage with a 15% discount certificate that I was given upon check in at their sister hotel Alchymist Nosticova palace. My therapist did a great job executing the massage styles as described on the Alchymist Massage description on their brochure. It combined swedish, lomi lomi and a few others.
Spa entrance receptionist was very welcoming and professional. While I was seated filling out the questionnaire form a hotel guest arrived demanding a 90 min treatment right then or within the hour. The receptionist handled the situation well to make the guest happy, ever after the guest was a little rude and ended up scheduling her for her treatment.
My only negative is that I wish my therapist would have been a little bit more welcoming. At times she seamed a little upset. Regardless, if I were to come back to Prague in the future I would not think twice about getting a massage here.

We did not stay at this hotel, however we visited it for the Fairytale experience, which was so special you have to do it to know what it is like. We started off with 90 minutes int he spa, we had it to ourselves. A beautiful dipping pool, exotic fruits served with proseco. The we had a 90 minutes body massage, we are spa aholics, it was the best ever. Then we had a three course meal with a bottle of wine, all as part of the package. The service was first class, the food of the highest standard and the service made us feel extremely special.

Wow, wow, wow!
If they have it available then do not hesitate for a second in booking their Fairytale Afternoon offer.
The communication beforehand was spot on - very professional and quick.
Then comes the day...
We arrived at a time chosen by me of 2pm and we were a little early (not a problem.)
We were informed that our table was ready in the restaurant upstairs and taken to the restaurant. We had a three course lunch in the package and you can choose ANYTHING from the menu - and this is top, top quality food. Beautiful wine and a bottle of mineral water accompanied the 5* food. No rush, very relaxed, gorgeous surroundings and fantastic service.
Then down to the spa which is a small steam room, sauna and jacuzzi (my only gripe - this was cold) Spent an hour relaxing down here before being brought through for treatments. We select the massage we wanted with the oil of our choice (6 to select from) - we both chose the Alcymist treatment which was a blend of a number of styles of massage. We enjoyed 90 minutes of pampering in our double massage room - what a day. Then once this was done and we had changed from our lockers, handing back our fluffy robes and slippers - there was the most exceptional fruit platter and very generous glasses of bubbles awaiting us in the lounge. This day was the perfect start to a very chilled few days in Prague and would recommend it without a second thought. Just to put all that day into context....the whole thing was about £100 each! Absolute bargain. Just book this.

My friend and I were recommended this Spa and I had also researched it as a place to stay so was happy when she said we did not need to book but could just turn up. We could not believe our luck- we paid £13.50 to use the facilities, with no time limits, the spa was very quiet, we maybe saw 5 other people throughout the afternoon (there between 12.30 and 18.30). Facilities are lovely, great music (although it was on repeat- this would be my only criticism! ), amazing comfy loungers and staff on hand. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were adaptable and flexible when my friend and I could not decide on which massage to have- combining both for us! The massage was top notch and I am well travelled, keen seeker of service and luxury- I could not fault this place, to the extent I recommended it to two friends, one of which was already in Prague, strongly advising them they must visit! We also had food there, which was great. The service was outstanding, particularly as we were not staying at the hotel. Well worth every penny spent there!

I stayed at the Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa for four days, and picked this hotel among others for its spa. The spa itself is so elegant and refined, with a beautiful swimming pool and treatment rooms. Ayman, the manager of the spa was very helpful and service-minded, helping us choose the right treatments. The masseuses are from Indonesia and were very discreet and extremely good - they knew what they were doing! I left the spa feeling very relaxed and happy. First class service, treatments and amenities!
