About
Get to know the Pilsner Urquell legend! We brewed the first pilsner type lager in the world with its characteristic full taste and limpid golden colour in 1842. It has been a model beer for more than 80% of existing beer brands so far. It owes its uniqueness to high quality ingredients and a unique brewing procedure. Go on a tour of the Pilsner Urquell brewery, and get to know the story of the legend born in 1842.

- MaddieAnaheim, California4 contributionsSuch a cool experienceWent on this tour with a group of alum from college. I was so impressed with this tour and especially our tour guide whose name I don’t remember unfortunately, but you could tell how knowledgeable and passionate she is about the brewery. Viewing the current bottling/recycling process, how they source ingredients, and the brewing process was fascinating and displayed so well. My absolute favorite was the tour into the underground beer cave/storage. A really unique experience to be able to drink the chilled beer straight from the massive kegs. Also, amazing gift shop 👌🏻Visited May 2022Traveled with friendsWritten December 22, 2022
- ulangutanDereham, United Kingdom205 contributionsGreat way to spend an afternoonPilsner Urquell is killer beer & this was an opportunity to see how it's made. The tour is pretty long, around 2 hours & ours was quite busy but we really enjoyed it & our guide was excellent. You see how the beer is brewed, stored, bottled & shipped as well as learning about the history of the brewery & the beer itself. Best part, trying the unfiltered (unpasteurised) beer down in the cellar. I love unfiltered beer, so that was a real treat. If you're coming to Plzen, definitely come here, it's a brilliant way to learn about the history, not just of the city's most famous export, but the city itself. Great attraction.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 2, 2023
- Dan P1 contributionBrewery Tour UrqellWas on a brewery tour with a fantastic tour guide name Patracia. She had a unique, and at times funny, way to conway the history of the brewery. Her english was clean and without any accent at all. As a bonus info. She is also an actor. So 5 star from me and wife.Visited May 2023Traveled with familyWritten May 31, 2023

Exclusive taste test (for 18+) of unfiltered beer straight from the barrel at the end as it had just finished brewing. Good H&S, humour would recommend for anyone, especially those into cultural history and beer.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 28, 2023
- JULjubljana, Slovenia131 contributionsBest brewery tour in PlzenIf you are a fan of beer or not, you definitely should visit the Pilsner Urquell factory. You get a lot of information about brewing a beer, all of the Plzen beer history and you can even see the brewery facilities and taste the beer directly from the barrel. Take the tour and expect to need a least 2-3 hours.Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 11, 2023
- Nate080411Nashua, New Hampshire985 contributionsA must if you have the time in PragueSince we were spending a few days in Prague we decided to take a tour company out to the Pilsner Urquell Brewery for their brewery tour. Overall we had a very good experience with the tour. You do get to see multiple areas of their operation in action before going into their cellar for the tasting. No doubt the final 3rd of the tour was our favorite part. You go into their old original cellar for a private tasting. Our tour guide was very good, she spoke great English and was able to command a room. Our only draw back were the large size of the group made it a bit awkward to ask questions.Visited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 4, 2023
- Diana HBucharest, Romania153 contributionsInteresting experienceWe took a guided tour at the brewery. The guide showed us the old and the new brewery and the process of making the beer. It also has an interactive part which was nice, I won't give out spoilers. You can also eat at the restaurant from the same courtyard, which the guide will kindly recommend but their food is quite good and the beers are cold.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 1, 2023
- Relax657479273915 contributionsAwesome tour. Do it and you will love it.Best beer tour ever. Serious this tour is awesome in every way. Informative, historical, fun, and includes drinking a fresh unpasteurized beer straight from a tapped barrel in an underground cooling cave. If you are anywhere near the city of Pisen you must stop here and take the tour.Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 3, 2023
- John KKnaresborough, United Kingdom1,628 contributionsVery good.Ok, we were staying in Prague for 4 days and booked this tour. We didn't realise it was in Plzen...our fault totally. Plzen is actually 1.5 hours away by train and we worked out train there, tour train back is pretty much a full day. We nearly didn't go by we are so glad we, it's a fantastic experience. The brewery is huge, covers that much ground you get a bus to see the building . Bottling plant was awesome along with the numbers of bees bottled. Ended with a tasting in the underground cellars, superb and would recommend it. We really enjoyed it and it was worth the day out of Prague....we went early and explored Plzen.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 13, 2023

Interesting tour through the legendary brewery. First beer, the lager Pilsner type- bottom fermentation brewed in 1492 by Josef Groll. You will learn about the ingredients, beer manufacturing, visit the cellars and taste unpasteurized beer. The tour can be taken individually duration about 60 min, 100 CZK open every day from 10 am to 6 pm.
After the museum tour you can take the beer taping school at the e Secese centre (very nice interior). The program includes: Workshop of beer tapping and care for beer, Unlimited consumption of Pilsner Urquell beer tapped by yourself, delicious goulash and one a half-litre Pilsner Urquell beer glass. The tour in many languages available.

You can buy the tickets on the brewery website or at the visitor center. There are plenty of tours every day in Czech, German or English. It costs only 10 euros. The tour is a multisensorial experience. You see, you smell, you taste every ingredient of the beer production. The guide explained in detail every step. The brewery itself is a historical place, really worth a visit for beer lovers. In the end, you get to taste the beer direct from the barrel in the beer cellar, it couldn't taste better. Amazing!

A must see if you are just a bit interested in the history of the pilsener. The brewery is the right in the middle where the pilsener was created some 180,years ago. An interesting tour thru the historical part and the modern part of the brewery competently guided by an entusiastic and well prepared guide. Cant remember her name, but she was very good and easy to understand. The tour ends in the cellar where a small amount af unfiltered and unpastaurized Urqell are still lagered on huge barrels. You get to taste this direct from the barrel and that isba truely great beer.

Amazing tour full of history and knowledge. But…the flow of the tour was wrong. Tell a story from start to finish! Yet this journey started basically at the end - with bottling. More than one beer would have been nice too. BUT WORST OF ALL IS CUSTOMER SERVICE. We had to change our preferred day for a large group tour. We provided them 36 hours advance notice. Yet they are closed on the weekends (despite tours operating). So we had to book the tickets a second time and then requested a refund on the original booking. They refused. This is highly disappointing considering the money we spent on the tour and especially merchandise in the shop afterwards. Beware!

We took a day trip to Pilsen from Prague in order to visit the brewery, and it was great! The brewery complex is a short walk from the train station. There is a visitors center, the brewery, a gift shop, and a restaurant within the gates. Be sure to sign up for a tour ahead of time, since different languages are held at different times. Our guide was very interesting, and we got to drink out of the barrel at the end of the tour. Lots of fun!

Unfortunately our guide was very shy and calm. He was not passionate. A guided tour needs interaction, good stories, some funny anecdotes. There weren't any highlights. I learnt almost nothing about the Pilsener Urquell Company. Just Wikipedia-Stuff. :(

bonjour ,
