Disappointing
Sep 2019
We stayed in the garden house that consists of two seperate units - downstairs with livingroom and WC and upper floor with bedroom and bathroom. They are only connected thrpugh an outer staircase. Whoever came with the idea to rent it out as one house? A bit of a joke, really. Stained old sofa - might be a good idea to remove the stain, or better, the whole sofa? No soap in the WC. No curtains downstairs at all - visitors of the park come to the house to take pictures in front of it not realizing there are actually people being accommodated inside. Mini bar fridge had the same temperature as the room. The bedroom smelled like toilet - clearly a problem with drainage. Floor makes squeeky sounds each time you walk on it. The bathroom / toilet seem more modern than the rest of the property, however, no storage there - eg. shelves, cupboards or at least some hooks. No fan there either. No wardrobe. Rooms definitely smaller than what they look like on the hotel website. Quite nice view from the terrasse. Park ok with some interesting labyrinths / children playground but neglected. Plastic chairs close to the fountain ruin the whole looks of this wannabe 4/5* hotel garden. It is a 3* one at best! Pool very old and unsafe as it is deep on both sides - my toddler almost drowned me when she jumped into my arms. Dated restaurant that opened for lunch an hour later than was supposed to and only had a very limited daily offer menu that also happened to be the same for both days. Taste wise good but only very plain dishes were on offer.
Breakfast ok but breakfast room very busy - not what I would expect in a hotel in the middle of nowhere. Cleanliness wise - husband found a bunch of hair in the bed that did not belong to us!. The Kama sutra board decorating the bedroom is something truly interesting though. This place, to be fair, has a lot of potential but needs massive investment and capable, motivated management. The best thing might be the visit of the actual castle, something we had to skip due to the age of our kid. In any case, totally over-priced for what it is. If you want to stay in a beautiful 5* chateau hotel, there is one very close-by.

Fun at the labyrinth gardens
Jun 2019 • Family
Arrived at Nymburk a day early prior to dropping of my grandson in a sport camp. We got to the labyrinth gardens late, one hour before the 18.30 closing time, but we were advised, that we could take our time and then leave through a gate by the Hotel on the premises.
There are many mazes and labyrinth areas, our favorites were wooden fence and hedge mazes and the rope maze was most fun. It took well over an hour to go through most of the mazes, then we played a game of lawn chess right in front of the chateau- beautiful setting and we had the entire area to ourselves. Parking was free and there are several choices for refreshments - at the entrance gate, the chateau restaurant and the more formal hotel restaurant. We did not have time for a tour inside.

Interesting but not a must see
Dec 2017 • Couples
We were staying in Prague over the Christmas holidays and wanted a day out that wouldn’t be too hard going but would be interesting. We picked Castle Loučeň.

A taxi from Prague cost us CZK 1300 with Prague Airport Transfers. There was an additional, charge of CZK 220 per hour waiting time. We spent approximately an hour and a half at the castle.

Whilst Castle Loučeň is not a must see on the Prague circuit it fulfilled its purpose for us - it provided something interesting to do for one morning after Christmas. Access to the castle is by guided tour; this is only available in Czech however the castle provides sheets in English telling you what you are seeing.

I don’t see me returning here because I’ve now seen it. If you’re looking for something to do for half a day and you’re in the area then it’s a pleasant enough diversion.

Great place to visit with younger children
Jul 2017 • Family
We came in the summer with younger children (aged up to 12). The maze selection and rope park area was great for our kids. There are a total of 12 labyrinths, clearly mapped out in the site plan that they give you. By chance we went round the route in reverse from 12 to 1. If you are game for the entire route, I recommend this as the harder walking is at the start then the best maze is probably the largest - number 4 and the rope park is near 5. You then end by the castle (mazes 1 and 2) for an ice cream or bite to eat. Certainly this was best for us.

Fantastic wedding
Jul 2017 • Friends
We went there for a friends wedding. A beautiful locating for a small to medium size wedding. The hotel offers sufficient accommodating for everybody and the chateaux with its gardens and orangerie is just perfect. The food provided in the restaurant as well as during the wedding was just great, we really, really loved it. Staff went out of their way if necessary trying to make everybody happy and the event unique for the couple, family and friends. The only issue is the transport from the airport which takes about an hour and is pretty costly. Special thanks goes to Radmila, the wedding planner. It was because of her that all arrangements necessary were put in place to ensure the bride had a good time without stressing about anything and all guests coming from all over the world were helped out and felt comfortable.

Nice place
Oct 2016
We were there this weekend (so after season), but we enjoyed it. Good small restaurant with "children's meals" 😃. Just the girl selling us Mickey Mouse balloon, could make a loop for our girl's hand...she didn't, and Mickey fly off without my will (which was aswell my fault, loop just make it easier)

Lovely gardens, rather poor food
Sep 2016 • Business
The place looks very nice from outside (did the gardens only). The garden is fab! Funny mazes for kids, lots of great trees, hidden corners, nice visit really! On the other hand the restaurant is just lightly average... no fun behind it, very average taste and look... Have expected much more to be honest!
