Beautiful Cathedral from the Middle Ages in Kutna Hora Czech Republic. Spent two days in Kutna Hora and really enjoyed it. This is a tourist town because of the Cathedrals and because it had Silver mines back in the Middle Ages and they produced silver and copper coins there. Was a rich town. The Cathedral has many beautiful old paintings. Well worth a visit. It costs to get in but if you go you should buy the all inclusive ticket for the Silver mines, bone church and two Cathedrals. Recommend.

As cathedrals go, this is the worst I've been to as far as interest is concerned.
It's really just a big empty room.
No stained glass to look at, few paintings / artworks, there isn't even any nice masonry to look at as it has all been painted yellow.

Came here as our ticket for the ossuary included entry for this church too. From the outside the building looks incredibly grim. But don't make assumptions! Inside, it's quite nice. There are some preserved corpses to look at and depictions of Jesus.

A very big spacious cathedral, bought the combined ticket with the Bone Church and glad I did, it is a very spacious cathedral, plain but equally spectacular inside. I walked up to the rafters and along the top to get a great view down below.
This is well worth visiting

The Church of the Assumption of Our Lady and Saint John the Baptist is a cathedral and UNESCO building in Kutna Hora. It’s about 5 minutes walk from the much more popular and touristy Sedlec Ossuary. It’s also a lot quieter than the ossuary, which makes a visit much more enjoyable.
When you enter the church, you get a placard detailing the main points of interests of the interiors and there’s also descriptions on the boards just after the ticket office with lots of history of the church.
Inside, the church is a Czech Gothic design, mixing tate Gothic with Baroque and the distinctive intertwined ribbed vaults characteristic of Czech Gothic. Much of the church was only restored in the early 2000s and the side chapels are mostly bare. The high altar is richly decorated with a beautiful Baroque painting of the Assumption on the ceiling above. Flanking the front of the high altar are shrines of St Felix and St Vincent. The side chapel worth seeing are the Chapel 14 helpers in Indigence and the Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Sedlec, both of which are richly decorated in Baroque and for me the highlights of the visit.
One of the nice features of the church is a chance to climb to the upper balcony which takes you through the attic area before leading into the balcony proper. The stairwell up to the balcony are beautifully designed with a spiral shape and the attic area has a mini exhibition.
Well worth a visit.

The best part of this visit (after seeing the middle grizzly and fascinating relics) was the attic walk through the rafter in the dark and dimly lit roof space across the vaulted ceiling.

The beautiful Cathedral of Our Lady in Sedlec is a UNESCO World Heritage site! A short walk from the Sedlec Ossuary it is worth a quick visit!! Go up the spiraling staircase to see how the old roof was constructed. Never ceases to amaze me at the workmanship that was put into these buildings....

We went early 0930 but only a few people and us. Worth the ticket and stop. Walking through the attic was cool.

Some stunning and huge artworks housed within this Cathedral. Beautiful vaulted ceilings from below and they have set up a walkway in the attic so that you can walk through to see them and the roof space from above and just under the roofline (eerie but good to do). Beautifully painted ceilings and gorgeous pews and confessionals dating back centuries with ornate carvings in them. Also a Bone display of bones found when doing restoration works. Well worth a visit as history very interesting. We caught the train from Prague ($99Kč return for 3 adults) and combined a ticket for this attraction with the Bone Chapel. Allow around 5 hours for a return trip (inclusive of hour each way on train).

The church interior has the early Gothic colonnades and vaults going for it. The collection of art and religious artifacts (with the fully-size relics of 2 early Roman saints on display!) was rather somber and somewhat awkward. The exterior is also a pretty sober example of early Gothic architecture. What is also unique is the possibility to explore the roof on an open passageway along the buttresses.
