I had to know more about this place than it being a Bone Church to convince my husband to agree to including this in our itinerary during our visit to Prague, Czech Republic. (I remember him not agreeing for us to check-out the catacombs in Paris some years back.) From my readings before our trip, more than it being the... More

Along with the Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady and St John the Baptist in Sedlec, the Roman Catholic Cemetery Church of All Saints with the Ossuary is part of the former Cistercian monastery in Sedlec, founded in 1142. The cemetery church is a two-floor charnel-type building from the 14th century. According to legend, CLAY which was brought by... More

It was the highlight of my visit, and I would highly recommend the half Day tour. The sheer number of skeletons artistically displayed is mind blowing. They are also excavating and you can see layers of burials being uncovered. Amazing place.

This is a very unusual chapel to visit, as it is decorated by bones.. They are everywhere! If you like horrors or are just interested in unusual stuff, you'll definitely appreciate it here:) It is amazing how someone was able to compose such an accurate representation of family shields just from bones! But there are also other things like bone-chandelier... More

Highly unusual small chapel that is decorated with human bones and skulls ! Some in displays on the walls and ceilings and others in a huge pile of bones . Not to everyone's taste

We did the discover Prauge tours. It was a great afternoon. The cemetery church was one of the major high lights of the trip. So much history. A little Erie. But definitely a must see.

It is a very quick tour (hired a private car from Prague) but a good story and wonderful sight. I would suggest the time you go have decent weather, as many of the old churches in this area do not have heaters or A/C's.

It sound horrible for just hearing the name "church of human bones". The place is not big. It a bit like a cemetery on the outside. Once you get to the entrance that you can small the difference. The church is located in the basement, which is not big but full of bones. Not suggest children to come but it... More

After reading several reviews about how the decorations of human bones were not actually creepy, I had to visit for myself and they were right. The stories of the monks being brutally killed and the guides telling us that broken or damaged skulls were probably monks, but the majority of bones are just normal people dug up because the cemeteries...
