This Byzantine style Orthodox churche of Saint Peter and Paul is realy wonderful and worth to see. It has 5 gold plated cupolas and its walls are decorated with ornamental and figural ornaments. It's situated not far from the main promenade (about 1 km) but the street is very steep.

1. It is the largest and the most important church in Czech Republic, it definitely worth your visit.
2. The interior is nice, kind of amused when I have never been to an Orthodox church.
3. The outside is also special, I think it is the best ORTHODOX church in Czech Republic and the best church in KARLOVY VARY

One of the oldest monuments and active churches in the city. We heard organ playing during our visit and only one person sitting. A very nice church is a must for visiting.
You will smell history there.

It's worth walking uphill for fifteen minutes to see the Orthodox Church of Saints Peter and Paul. After all, the return trip is downward. On our last day, my spouse and I went to this exquisite church. In actuality, we had the opportunity to see a baptism in progress. Though we were unable to comprehend a single word, we were obviously aware of the significance of the ceremony. Even though it is tiny, taking a moment to reflect on one's blessings within is worthwhile.

As I made my way from the pedestrian street to the Russian church, the architecture grew more amazing (kralo jiriho). Before the Second World War, opulent Art Nouveau homes were constructed, and an entirely restored Orthodox church sits at the end of the street. It is highly frequented because there are so many Russian expats and tourists there.

This church is a splendid piece of architecture as you can see on the pictures I have attached.
However it is not for tourists since you are not welcome there unless you are of orthodox faith and there to pray.
It is legitimate, however I wish only the people in charge there were less rude ...
Things can be said or stated in different ways.
The surroundings however are beautiful with luxurious villas so if you want to have a walk I do recommend the area but if you intend to visit the Church ....Well it is a different story.

The assistants in the church are rude and not welcoming; people from other confessions or religions are discarded - only Russian orthodox are accepted. If you want to light candle or order mass they directly ask you:'Which religion you belong to?" Not a pleasant experience. I have traveled the world and never came across with such revolting attitude in any of the religious establishments I have visited.

The Orthodox Church of Peter and Paul is probably another church, but walking from the downtown to here is a very pleasant experience you should not miss. Almost free of tourists, during the walk to the church you will find some of the best views of Karlovy Vary. The walk will take about 20 minutes.

It's such a magnificent Orthodox Church especially when taking pictures at night. We couldn't go inside as they are renovating it. We are so lucky because the Church is just right in front of our hotel. It is a must visit when in Karlovy Vary.

Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral, Karlovy Vary, is a Russian Orthodox church located in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, it's country's largest and most important church of its kind.
It is open usually till 6pm and there is also a small gift shop inside where you can buy some souvenirs.
Definitelly interesting to visit but seen more interesting churches.

Hi I saw your comment on tripadvisor regarding your stay in Karlovy Vary; you mentioned you got a prescription for the drinking water and I was wondering if you could give me any information on that. I am having a hard time getting information for an upcoming trip regarding health treatments. I have 9 nights in the area, and was thinking of maybe splitting them evenly between Karlovy Vary, Marianske Lazne and Prague. Do you think 3 nights in each place is good? It seems that all the "wellness packages" are for a minimum of 7 nights. Thanks for any input/tips you may have.

I did not mention any prescription for drinking water. I did tried it, though, as it is free to enjoy from the colonade fountains.
If you're not doing spa treatment, one day will be enough for Karlovy Vary. I've never been to Marianske Lazne. As for Prague, it's beautifull and well worth as much time as you can spare.
If you like music and theatre, don't miss on the many classical music concerts in the old churches, all through town. And get tickets for the puppet show at the Marionette Museum.

We plan on visiting this area this week. Is the Church still under construction?
Thank You,
