Nice and clean

The New Colonnade is a heart of this town. It is not big like in other spa towns, but you can enjoy beautiful buildings and lovely cafés and restaurants there. Near by there are parks full of flower beds and with lots of benches to sit and relax.

Built in the neoclassical style the gas spa building was built in 1912, along with a new colonnade. The building from Gustav Wiedermann's project replaced the original wooden colonnade. The low gabled roof of the colonnade is supported by Tuscan columns. Two sphinxes guard the area in front of the colonnade. There is a cafe and a few souvenir shops here.

My favorite place

Area around New Colonnade is my favourite place in Frantiskovy Lazne. Buildings are simply beautiful, very well preserved and neat and whole place is nicely decorated by flowers in summer. It is busy enough to feel alive but never really overcrowded. There is a nice café directly at the colonnade and little shop with typical spa wafers, some souvenirs and ice cream.

Probably the least attractive of the three spa towns in the spa triangle

Frantiskovy is lacking the atmosphere of Karlovy Vary and Marianske Lazne. It reminds a bit of a film set which is waiting to be called into action. No doubt lovely buildings, but it lacks any atmosphere. The Kolonaden were not too appealing, but it was worthwhile seeing it all the same.

Wonderful place

Nicely perserved buildings that werde turned to Spa and hotels. Promenade is also wonderful place to visit. Whole town gives you feeling of warm welcome. Many spring water sources nearby to try.

Franntiskovy Lazne is very nice in summer, light and bright, but quiet and peaceful
Kollonade is beautiful piece of architecture , worth a visit together with the nice park
