It is a nice place for real tourists - to walk up the hill and look around. But the people who need to travel by car even to their toilets will not like it :-)!

My wife and I have been here a few times. It's a pleasant little hike with stunning views from the top. To be honest I'm scared of heights, and my wife makes fun of me for it, but the view from up there is worth the agony for me.

To walk to Sněžník Tower takes approx. 20 minutes from the carpark, 2 km. The views from the top are stunning when you are lucky and have beautiful weather.

The Schneeberg lived up to its name in January 2024! A wonderfully enchanted frostland at minus 10 degrees awaited us.
But now for the flop, the restaurant:
Grumpy, loud and unfriendly landlord. The menu is very short, and about half of the dishes listed were not available. The coffee: weak swill...
If there was an alternative up there, the world wouldn't need such restaurants!
The prices quoted do not justify the quality in any way.

Nice hike from the Schneeberg car park, a very nice view from the restaurant. However, as far as food goes:
2 cans of Coke, 2 x schnitzel with chips - without side dish paid in euros = €29.
We definitely won't eat there again.

This lookout boasts probably the most beatiful view on the town of Decin and its surrounding hills. In a hot summer it is seeked for its fresh breeze and in a cold winter, this place is always snow - covered and with a little imagination you can think of a north pole as this is a table mountain with a big plains surrounding it. The lookout itself is 150 years old, stone and beatiful. Just at its base there is a simple bufet where you can have a cold/ hot drink and some basic czech snacks including goulash, soup and a hot sousage. Next to it is a proper restaurant for a longer stop. The place is easilly accesible by car (go to village Sněžník and park there, then 3 km hike to the top) and is favoured mostly by locals and german tourists as for others, it still awaits to be discovered. Definitely worth seeing for all hikers. There is a local travel agency organizing trips there in a small groups with a transport and with an english/german speaking guide - www.northernhikes.com.

Very friendly service in tourist restaurant. Home made kitchen, cold beer, on the peak you can rent scooter for your trip back to the parking.

parking by Snežnik hotel, not free.
moderate walk uphill to the lookout tower.
views from Dresden viewpoint are a-ma-zing. But when we were there it was so windy our eyes were all watery.
Lookout tower was closed, because guesthouse that has the keys, closed earlier as said on the website.
still I recommend the walk.

A "Mother of towers" as nicknamed, the tower offers wonderful views of Southern Saxony up to Dresden, Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland, Elbe valley, and the Central Bohemian Ridge. Just don´t forget your hiking shoes, it is some distance to steep hill.

We walked to the top from the car park ( 2km) took us less than 1 hour ( with 3 year old ). Nice walk for families with kids all ages, they especially enjoy walking through the wood. View from the tower is really amazing.
