Divci Kamen was built in medieval times - by the 1500's it was already falling into disrepair. You can still hike to see the ruins - they are on a mountain in the Sumava forests and the views from the tower are wonderful. From Trisov, you can hike one of two trails - there is a steeper trail that goes through the forest and takes around 35 minutes, or there is a longer road that is paved for much of the way and goes across a tributary of the vlatava river. The quaint farmhouses and the meadows carved out of the countryside are also lovely. You can take a train or bus from Cesky Krumlov, I just had a taxi drop me off (20 min drive) and pick me up two hours later. perfect timing - though I think there was a restaurant in the forest near the castle, so could have lingered further.

Its only a 9k drive from Cesky Krumlov but it feels much further. You start at the railway station in the village of Tristov. There are two options. We did a circuit hike. First 2k along the tiny road (no traffic) to the right, which is a nice walk although 3/4 through fields and 1/4 through forest with one small stream crossing over a bridge. The after visiting the castle (bring CZ cash for entry) walk back the other way 1.5K along the red trail - all through forests but quite steep. The trail is really much nicer and really feels like hiking, although of course short distance. There are some nice views. The ruins itself is interesting but all the signs are only in Czeck so hard to understand the significance. If you are limited on time this is not probably worth skipping Cesky Krulov but if you are there a few days and looking for something else in the area to do this is a good option if you like off the beaten path walks and rural views of countryside and streams. I suppose you can take a train but we drove. There is also another 2K walk to the ruins from another parking area but I was not sure how to get there.

we were in the passing and had some time to kill, so we headed for Divci Kamen. At viewpoint near Oppidium we decided not to go all the way to the castle ruins. We enjoyed the view, but we have seen so many castle ruins in our lifetime, we decided not to go all the way there. But camping by this castle in the summer time does sound itreaging.

This ruin is located a short drive from Cesky Krumlov. We accessed it from the small village of Trisov but it can be accessed from nearby Holubov for a slightly longer walk. The walk is a good 25 minutes each way. Along the way amongst the fields and light woods there are some low key sites but the information is only in Czech. There is a lookout which offers the best view of the ruin and you could very easily turn around and leave it here. We struggled on and the path descended into the valley before climbing again at the ruin site. All up it is around 100 metres elevation change. Unusually for a castle it is located at the bottom of a valley rather than the typical hilltop position that historical castles commanded.
The ruin is set in the confluence of two rivers but they were running low when we were there. Nor could you see the rivers once you were in the ruin which meant that much of the imagery on the internet or romantic position was lost as the view and the valley was heavily overgrown.
The ruins themselves are fairly extensive and you get a small English pamphlet which only provides some history of the site but nothing about what you are actually looking at. Overall it was a real let down for us. A small amount of investment in signage and developing the setting would greatly improve this visit.

We took a taxi to a village named Trisov as iDOS directed us to the train, which was very complicated from our hostel and google maps had no idea what we wanted. On the way back we stumbled upon a bus to Cesky Krumlov central station. The scenery is nice and we recommend it.

This Castle Ruins is situated in a very romantic and beautiful part of the nature. Two rivers, rocks, cliffs, and very nice castle with few view points. I can very recommend the restaurant 400 meters from the castle that is situated on the river bank with great cuisine.

Off the beaten path are these ancient ruins dating to the 1300s. When you touch a stone here you are reaching back into medieval times. It's known as Girls' Stone in English. Don't expect touristy trappings - the ruins and a lovely walk through a nature preserve are what you will see.

Divci Kamen are ruins of an old castle. The hike to the place is not very long, going through the forest. You hear the river all the way to the place - very nice and relaxing.
The castle was very big, but now there are only ruins left, because it was never actually someone living place.
Impressive, romantic, the nature is beautiful.
We are parked at Trisov. The hike to the ruins, being at the place and the way back are taking about a hour and a half.
