A great renovation of an ancient building, put to good use as an art gallery, and a museum of the life of Egon Schiele, an artist I am interested in. Not many originals by Schiele: they are in the large collections. The shop is really good, with a huge selection of great prints of Schiele's work.

We saw lots of paintings and drawings from schiele. Very good descriptions in English and German. Also a cheep entry specially for students. Nice old building with wooden rooftop. Quite good experience!

I have been an admirer of Egon Schiele's work for years so the Krumlov center was a must.During our stay, there were also two temporary exhibits of Czech artists, which we found most interesting. The space itself is an old industrial building and well worth a visit.

The Egon Schiele Museum is certainly worth a visit if you are spending the day in Cesky Krumlov. Egon Schiele was as accomplished a painter as he was controversial in his day and the Museum does a good job of explaining his life, artistry, paintings and travails. The collection is one of prints and several of the originals paintings are... More

This is a small museum but the life and the works of Egon Schiele are very well displayed. There were a couple of other very interesting exhibits

Egon Schiele is not my favorite artist, but it was high on my husband's list. What I loved was the building this gallery was housed in! It was an old brewery at one time with ancient stairways that led to rooms and even a narrow corridor where you can look out on the entrance from above. The coffee shop across... More

We had never heard of Egon Schiele, but we stopped here because of TA recommendations. First of all, it appears like a tiny storefront. Then you go inside and find this art gallery constructed of wooden beams with a rustic, very open feel. You can quickly read about the short life of Egon Schiele and see some of his work.... More

Almost didn't bother as I'm not much of an Egon Schiele fan but they have temporary exhibits as well. Brilliant display of photographs from the Josef Seidel collection.

Once the town brewery, the building itself is interesting. But added to that is the story of the painter Egon Schiele and other Krumau artists. Don't miss it!

The Egon Schiele exhibit included several prints of his work. This was surprising and disappointing as I was expecting all original works of art. Also, I wanted to take pictures of the plaques documenting his life, so that I could read it carefully when I had more time. I was asked not to take pictures of their printed words. The... More
