Museum of torture, of which there are many in the Czech Republic. The basement contains many dramatized torture, wax figures of prisoners behind bars, display cases with instruments for torture. Perhaps interesting for teenagers.

This museum did it’s job of spooking me out. It though felt a bit cheap. There was creepy noises that they kept playing in the background to give it that dark effect. I personally found it tacky. The aspect that I found interesting was the actual exhibition part with the devices but not the creepy wax figures.
It might be of interest to some people but it didn’t do it’s job for me.

This museum is located in the cellars of town hall of Cesky Krumlov. In it you get to see around a 100 torture devices, some heart wrenching scenes with wax figures and two horrific death scenes. The witch burning and sword execution scenes, with very realistic audio video effects, recreate the cruelty and horror of the medieval times. The price is very reasonable around 3 Euros. Try to take the audio tour. Do not miss this museum.

Skip this place. It is underground so it smells like mould. The displays are cheesy and the mannequins are horrible. There are better place to see in Krumlov and it is definitely not this one.

I really had my hopes up with this museum after reading the reviews but was very disappointed. It was not well put together. It had a lot of pictures of things they did to torture but the displays were it very good. Save your money even though it's relatively inexpensive.

As most of the museums and castles are closed on Mondays this was open in Cesky Krumlov.
Once inside you walk through the dungeon and see, hear(voices of the tortured persons) and read about different types if tortures and when how it were used as a punishment.
If you are interested in this type of time tour, worth a visit then ( takes about 30mins)
You’ll find the entrance at the Square under the arcades the Tourist Info-centre is nearby.

Not at all worth the time. Cheap but poor. Had great potential due to great location and building. Feels fake, catch tourists and Halloween liked. Would definitely never should have done it. Point.

Collection of old torture instruments. Dimly lit , dusty gave me an allergy. Embarassingly insipid .

Honestly-this is a tourist trap. Very little historical information- staged scenes were very juvenile. Quite expensive for little value. Brought my 12 and 16 year old through and they were done in 5 minutes- not impressed.

Was quite interesting to see the different methods of torture used. The area was very dark and it made it difficult to read the information plaques. It also seemed to just end abruptly and you were back outside. Not really worth the amount paid.
