More than 700 years of history and brewer's heritage

Today the building is exploited as hotel annex pub. From early 18th century on disputes were going on between local brewers and the City Council about the management of a municipal brewery, in 1722 the Town Council decided to return the brew rights under the condition that they would quit beer brewing in their homes, therefore the townspeople bought the "Malý Pivovar" from Matěj Konviček, however, the City Council declared this building would forever be municipal property but townspeople could make use of it for 6 months yearly, from then on the municipal owned two breweries: Velký Pivovar next to the Rožnovská port and this Malý Pivovar (situated on the corner of ulice Karla IV and Kněžská).

The beer was good so was the food. The disadvantage is that the place is full of smoke. Did not see any brewery either...

NOT a brewery to visit

Didn't actually go in here so can't comment on how good it is, but it's just a pub a not a brewery or 'activity' in Ceske Budejovice! So one star reflects this rather this rather than the quality of the place. You'll probably walk past it as it's just off the main square.
