Small red castle, ideal for romantic photos. Interested guided tour. Walk around castle (lake) to enjoy romantic views on the castle. There is also possibility to rent a horse to ride for children.

Lovely place, wonderful setting of the house in the small lake and garden. Another site checked off of "PEXESO" :)

Ignore the reviews about language.....you rate one star because you visit a country and they don't speak your language?!!! Ridiculous!!!!

Well, it was rainy day and we were never here before, so we decided to make a trip here. In fact we had no expectations, so it was just about the place to attract us and show us the best of it. The chateau is really small. I would say tiny. But due to its appearance it is famous and was in few movies and fairy tales.
The surrounding is definitely tourists-friendly, but it is similar like on any other popular place. A big restaurant, smaller kiosks, ice cream stand, toilets and stands with souvenirs, paid parking and crowds all around. This place has everything from this list. So do not expect a trip to medieval times. It is a tourist attraction.

Interiors are quite nice, well preserved and maintained in the way last owners had it. It was lucky that their servant was able to keep the place after their removal after World War II. So there are many pictures and photographs and despite the fact it is again and old chateau and every one of them look similar inside, this one has some genius loci, there is no doubt.

You can make a short walk around the lake enclosing the chateau island, but mind there are few meters of trickier path over rocks just above the water level. There is a boat rental as well, but be careful about the water. Every waste plumbing from houses around lead to the lake...

Is it worth of a visit? It is, but you need to have on mind, that hundreds of people will visit it with you.

This little castle is placed in the small island in the middle of sea (or better: big pond). Look very romantic, painted to red colour, tinny and simply sweet. Nature around is nice too and you can make small boat trip on the sea too.
Inside of castle is but nothing big to see. So may be better to stay outside and walk and enjoy :)

Červená Lhota - little castle is one of the most beautiful chateaus in the Czech Republic. Located in the south of Czech Republic, near Ceske Budejovice.
Castle built on a rocks in the middle of the lake.
Beautiful place, great view, great pictures.
Parking & restaurant near.
I recommend a walk around the lake, through the forest (20-30 min), with beautiful view.
You can explore the interior of the castle (museum) and the cellars of the castle in the rocks.
I recommend this place.

This small red castle located on small rock in the middle of pond looks like from fairytale. But if you enjoy guided tour, you probably can imagine how sad was history of our county in twentieth century.

Castle was closed when we visited in the shoulder season. However, the setting was sufficiently beautiful, and the lack of visitors gave us the opportunity to enjoy the nature and peace.

The castle is small but the surrounding landscape is beautiful and you don't have to pay a fee to just walk around the castle. There are snacks available in the area and lots of souvenirs. You can also rent a boat and paddle around the lake. We didn't take the tour but the experience was quite nice.
