I though it's a pool in the sea
Jul 2021
Although there are some difficulties in approaching the beach, however, the environment and the sea compensate you 100%.
Thick sand like its name with the sea consisting exclusively of sand up to 500 m long.
Ideal for both families and people who like deep swimming. But even if someone is looking for exploration, you can explore the secrets hidden in the rocks that surround the bay.
It does not have an organized beach bar so it wants an umbrella and high chairs or mats.

Nice gay nudist friendly beach
Jun 2021 • Couples
Nice unusual green sand beach. Good for nudists and gay people. It seems to be where local gay people come to relax and not far from the main town (still need to drive there though).
Good mix of people and it’s nice to see a beach without the paying beds and umbrellas. Bring your own.
Great fun in the sea, which is quite warm as the water is shallow for quite a distance.

Heavenly Beach

Pure golden sand, soft and warm. Untouched scenery, crystal clear water. Short walk in the rocks to reach the beach with amazing views!

Best beach in tinos
Aug 2020 • Family
It is fantastic to be able to find a perfect beach, away of organised bars and ombrellas...
Liitle sand dunes on the left part are great for kids.

Peace and quiet!
Aug 2020
We arrived at the beach around noon, so we expected it to have people, but luckily we were all alone! Seems that the difficulty in driving up the hill road and in finding the exact spot to take an off road turn in order to reach the beach, kept people away.

There used to be a beach bar/restaurant on this beach years ago, but it has long been closed. Thus there is nothing in km distance from here, which is exactly why I loved this place. The sand was amazing, golden, even with small bushes on the way to the beach (some 100 metres walk down a hill). The rocks on the sides of the beach give a picturesque artistic sense to the place. Waters were a bit blurry and wavy but the beach was amazing to lay down and enjoy the scenery and the sun.

Small but amazing beach
Aug 2019
Pachia Ammos means "thick sand" and certainly that is what you will find. There is a sand dune to one side where kids and grownups take turns rolling down and into the waters.
Although it may be difficult to get to unless you have a car, this beach is well worth a visit, especially if you are staying at Ag.Sostis, Laouti or Ag. Ioannis Porto nearby. Park your car at the "country club" overlooking the beach and walk down the path. There are no facilities on the beach itself, and that's what makes it unique. It's sand, sea, and sun at its purest.
Unfortunately despite the hilly terrain to the left and to the right, the beach is not protected during the meltemi wind season. That's when the "thick sands" become a sandstorm, and there is no respite from that.
For the truly adventurous, from Ag. Ioannis Porto you can attempt to hike to Pachia Ammos along the coastal hillside, instead of taking the car route. There is a dirt road up to a certain point (a beekeeper's storage facilities) and from there you navigate the hillside on your own (using Google Earth or Anavasi map/app). It can get somewhat brambly at the second half, so it's only recommended for experienced hikers. Hiking poles are useful, since some spots are particularly windy. We did the trek three times (two going, one coming) from Porto to Pachia Ammos, and I lived to tell the tale :)

best south eastern beach
Jul 2018 • Friends
for sure the best Tinos beach with Kolimbithra, this time in the south eastern part of Tinos. You reach it through a small road after Agios Joannis Port. It is well postsigned.
Its pecularity the fine greenish sand and shallow waters. Wonderful early morning, but it never gets crouded. When the wooden gate of the country club is open, you reach it going through the country club buildings, at the end there is a path leading down to the beach, otherwise follow the rough path to the right of the country club building. Also this beach is not protected against winds and in that case it gets flooded by the waves. Really worth a visit.

Perfect secluded beach with crystal clear water
Jun 2018
We had an hour's stop off here for a swim and some sun. I love wild swimming and the water here is perfect for watching fish and exploring underwater life. A little scramble down to get there so be sure footed!
