We make it a point to visit this temple for Darshan whenever we visit Kerala. The temple is very famous among devotees of Godess Durga and is very sacred. This temple is a Devi temple.. mainly known for the Khumba Bharani festival.. the festival comes in the month of February-March.. according to the Malayalam calender...Month of Khumba and the day of Bharani. A lot of devotees come to see the festival.

this is a very powerful Devi temple. this is a few kilometers away from Mavelikara and the Sree Kandiyoor Mahadeva Temple. Its one of the main temples in mavelikkara controlled by the Travencore devaswam board. The inner side of walls of main temple area, is decorated with beautiful mural paintings. there are two deities in the sanctum santoram. a smaller deity is accompaniety by a larger deity behind which could be seen only on bending yourself. But shouldnot miss both. the temple premises are neat and peaceful. Gents will have to remove their shirts etc before entering inside the main temple. A visit is must for long lasting peace of mind. worth visiting with family.…

A very famous temple in Kerala. Kumbhabharani is the temple festival which has unique tradition in several ways like preparation of konjummanga(a dish with dried prawn and green mangos) the residents prepare this special dish at there home on this special day. The rituals start from the day of Shivaratri till Kumbhabharani. Kuthiyottum has a unique style and is held every year with great reverence. The evening of the kumbhabharani day will be feast for your eyes. However if you like to avoid huge crowds you can also visit the temple early morning in the next day.…
