Simply Stunning

Spectacular Falls. Lots of water. But after doing the circuit. Very sore.. Loads and loads of stairs after taking the left track. But found if you took the right track it's easier to get too. Beautiful.

Excellent walk to spectacular falls
Jan 2021
There was an excellent circular walk to and from the falls with several lookout points to enjoy the sight and sound of the waterfalls. As the name suggests, it is a cascade of three falls, which was most spectacular. The walk through the forest was excellent also.

Exceptional Beauty

Visited the tree top fly and these falls are located another 5 mins down the same road. They were simple beautiful the falls themselves but the rainforest walk to get to them was just as impressive.

Tranquil walk with rewarding end!

After visiting the Otway Fly Treetop walk, I decided to drive a bit further down the Phillips track to visit Triplet Falls (as it is mentioned on the directional signposts of the road to the Otway Fly).
The road becomes unsealed as you approach the Triplet Falls car park, but there is substantial room to park, and toilets and picnic tables are provided here.

The walk to the falls is on a loop (so you don’t need to backtrack the same way you came to get back to the car park) and is signposted that it will take one hour to complete the circuit (I probably did the walk itself in less than 45 mins, but I spent a while at the falls viewing area which made my time there longer than an hour).

I was impressed with this walk. The path is easy (if you don’t mind steps) and large portions of the walk are on elevated grid mesh (so you are not walking in mud if it has been raining). The scenery is fantastic - beautiful ferns mixed with tall trees - very tranquil. You probably will get just as much out of this walk than you would at the Otway Fly - and this walk is free! (Admittedly you don’t get to walk as high as the treetops like you do at the Otway Fly, but if you want a nature walk and will struggle with the $25 each entry price for the Otway Fly, this walk to triplet falls takes you through scenery which is just as fantastic with the added bonus of seeing a beautiful waterfall at the end!)

I must admit though, when I got to the first viewing point of the falls - I was a little underwhelmed - because the view of the falls is blocked by trees, and I thought the best way to see them was to go ‘off the beaten track’ (like a lot of others were) and venture down on the ‘unofficial’ path to the base of the falls (which is done at your own risk, as the potential of a fall is high (even higher if it has been raining)).
BUT - upon rejoining the ‘official’ path and continuing along the loop, the second viewing platform is much better, with the view of the falls much more unimpeded (and safe!).

I’ve been to many waterfalls in the otways - erskine falks, Sheoak falls, phantom falls, Henderson falls, kalimna falls and the nearby Hopetoun falls - and in my opinion triplet falls ranks right up there (and the walk to them is one of the best and most scenic of the ‘easy’ tracks in the Otways!)

There is another track that leads to a seperate waterfall (little aire falls) which takes longer to get to (and I did not visit - maybe next time!)

Keep in mind, if your using google maps when driving the falls (like I did) - type in ‘triplet falls car park’ rather than just ‘triplet falls’, as I just typed in the latter and it made me make a right hand turn on a 4 wheel drive track just before the falls (called young’s creek track). There is no need for that, as the car park itself is easy to find straight along the main road if you just use the signposts!

Falls views slightly disappointing
Nov 2020
Located further on from the Treetop Walk attraction. Good car parking, toilets and picnic facilities. Moderate but pleasant walk to the falls viewing platforms with a few steep steps on the return. Falls views were limited and slightly disappointing. Some old timber mill remnants interesting but limited information. Could be better.

Lovely walk
Jan 2020
The highlight of this walk was definitely the plants. There are so many shades of green here, which is a pleasant change since so much of Australia is dry at the moment. There are absolutely massive gum trees and so many ferns.

I found the waterfall a bit disappointing as we didn't get a very good angle to see it from. But with all the other beautiful scenery around, I didn't care too much!

Loop track was closed when we got there due to weather damage, but to get too and from the falls is a relatively short and sharp easy walk. Well worth a quick trip too!

Disappointing
Apr 2019 • Couples
These falls are located just down the road from the Tree Top Walk attraction. The sign states the walk to the falls takes around one hour but if you stride it out it can be managed in forty-five minutes. A very pleasant walk through the rainforest which some will mobility issues may find challenging. There are quite a few steep steps but towards the bottom of the falls there are wide raised metal mesh walkways. The views of the falls at all level is not great so be prepared to be slightly disappointed for the effort you take in reaching them.

Beautiful!

It is an amazing rain forest walk from the car park. Took us about 1 hour in return. There's a platform where you can see the falls but if you are the adventurous type, you can climb down to the bottom of the falls. It was an amazing view from the bottom. Green ferny trees rocks covered in moss and fallen trees surrounds this water fall and the river. This is a must if you are in the region.
