Worth it...

Firstly, if you have a heart condition or a disability I recommend you DON'T visit these falls. I counted 170 steps from the falls platform back to the car park. There are more steps going into the rain forest.
The rain forest and falls are spectacular and are worth seeing.

Beautiful falls

Long walk in with a massive amount of descending stairs, which makes you question the dreaded climb out! Thankfully, the loop out is way easier, but it's still a good overall calf workout!
The falls themselves are beautiful and even in February were flowing nicely. Viewing platforms (3) give differing vantage points and spots to rest and take in the sounds of nature. Well worth the walk

Three Falls In One

Such a beautiful walk to these falls and the track has been beautifully done. I loved how the conservationists have made sure we did not destroy the forest floor and put a wonderful grill system in. To walk to the falls is approximately fourty minutes but once you have enjoyed them, you do not have to go back the same way - follow up the hill and the return to the car park is only twenty minutes. It is also nice to see where the falls start which is on the return track. The car park has toilet facilities as well but the doors do need fixing as they do not lock.

Amazing water feature

Great place to visit and not disappointed. Easy walk in and out. Good parking and toilets. The trail has been well constructed and the ecology is amazing. Arriving at the first landing is not the best view, the second landing and the amount of water is amazing!

Definitely one to see!!

Only a few km's drive from the Otway Fly, this waterfall would have to be the best in the area. Plenty of parking, also has toilets and picnic area. The walk takes about an hour, but worth it. Lots of steps up and down. Path is very easy to follow and has arrows to show you which way to go as well as signs explaining certain birds, trees etc. Very peaceful and beautiful.

A Stunning Waterfall

These stunning & spectacular waterfalls are located in the Great Otway Park, about 3 kms further on from the Otway Treetop Walk attraction. From the carpark, the walk is a one hour loop, comprising a 1.8k journey through the lush & beautiful rainforest. The track itself is an excellent constructed pathway through the ancient forest which includes steps (… lots of them) and steel platforms. Unfortunately, it would not be suitable for those people with limited mobility. On reaching the falls there are three viewing platforms to see the three distinct and impressive cascades. Also in the area of the fall is the site on an old timber mill with a number of relics of a past era. Hint … the pathway for the return trip from the falls to the carpark is quicker & shorter. Overall, a must see if you have the time.

Short hike, well worth it

This is a shorter hike with many stairs but the waterfall is worth it. The road to get there is long and windy though...at times sketchy. We visited Triplet and drove on to Hopetoun Falls as well. Be sure to stop at the Seqouias too! We did all the above in half a day.

The journey is just as pleasant, as the falls

Triplet falls is one of the more well-known of the many waterfalls that abound this whole area, probably due to it’s close proximity to the Otway Fly.

The falls are a good stop over after visiting the Otway Fly as they are located only 3KM from the above attraction.

Set within the Great Otway National Park among an ancient temperate rain forest, there is a picnic area, public toilets and it’s only a 2KM round trip from the car park.

Stunning natural beauty

We had actually intended to visit the Otway Fly Treetop Adventure but after speaking to a local they advised us to do this walk instead and I'm so glad we did. Peaceful and beautiful the 2km walk takes you through the heart of the rainforest to reveal stunning waterfall views.
The wooden track is well maintained with information boards along the way and an elevated platform to view the falls. Unfortunately we were on a tight schedule or we would have spent much longer here but even so it was well worth the visit.
Car park, toilets and picnic tables are situated at the entrance to the trails but please be aware there are some very steep inclines and steps and therefore would probably not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

Tranquil walk with rewarding end!

After visiting the Otway Fly Treetop walk, I decided to drive a bit further down the Phillips track to visit Triplet Falls (as it is mentioned on the directional signposts of the road to the Otway Fly).
The road becomes unsealed as you approach the Triplet Falls car park, but there is substantial room to park, and toilets and picnic tables are provided here.

The walk to the falls is on a loop (so you don’t need to backtrack the same way you came to get back to the car park) and is signposted that it will take one hour to complete the circuit (I probably did the walk itself in less than 45 mins, but I spent a while at the falls viewing area which made my time there longer than an hour).

I was impressed with this walk. The path is easy (if you don’t mind steps) and large portions of the walk are on elevated grid mesh (so you are not walking in mud if it has been raining). The scenery is fantastic - beautiful ferns mixed with tall trees - very tranquil. You probably will get just as much out of this walk than you would at the Otway Fly - and this walk is free! (Admittedly you don’t get to walk as high as the treetops like you do at the Otway Fly, but if you want a nature walk and will struggle with the $25 each entry price for the Otway Fly, this walk to triplet falls takes you through scenery which is just as fantastic with the added bonus of seeing a beautiful waterfall at the end!)

I must admit though, when I got to the first viewing point of the falls - I was a little underwhelmed - because the view of the falls is blocked by trees, and I thought the best way to see them was to go ‘off the beaten track’ (like a lot of others were) and venture down on the ‘unofficial’ path to the base of the falls (which is done at your own risk, as the potential of a fall is high (even higher if it has been raining)).
BUT - upon rejoining the ‘official’ path and continuing along the loop, the second viewing platform is much better, with the view of the falls much more unimpeded (and safe!).

I’ve been to many waterfalls in the otways - erskine falks, Sheoak falls, phantom falls, Henderson falls, kalimna falls and the nearby Hopetoun falls - and in my opinion triplet falls ranks right up there (and the walk to them is one of the best and most scenic of the ‘easy’ tracks in the Otways!)

There is another track that leads to a seperate waterfall (little aire falls) which takes longer to get to (and I did not visit - maybe next time!)

Keep in mind, if your using google maps when driving the falls (like I did) - type in ‘triplet falls car park’ rather than just ‘triplet falls’, as I just typed in the latter and it made me make a right hand turn on a 4 wheel drive track just before the falls (called young’s creek track). There is no need for that, as the car park itself is easy to find straight along the main road if you just use the signposts!
