This is a small town type museum of an interesting story. If you find yourself close it is worth a 2
30 minute pass through.

The Miason Voctor Hugo or Maison Victor Hugo is perhaps a misnomer. It is really the home of Charles Vacquerie, his son-in-law. However, there is a family connection and his daughter Adele did live there. The town Villequier is quite lovely with some excellent historical residences, one even with thatched roof. The museum is for someone who reads French (do not expect any other foreign language in the form of signage or employees) and adores Hugo's literature. There are about a dozen rooms and many artifacts, prints and photographs connected with Hugo, a mix of original and facsimiles. The taxi fare from Caudebec, the neighboring large town was about 35 euros round trip. The town itself while interesting, especially the church of St. Martin was dead as a doornail on Monday afternoon. The few stores in town showed no signs of any activity. Entrance was two euros for seniors (I believe 5 euros for others) so the museum itself was quite inexpensive. I would recommend it highly if 1) it is not out of your way; 2) you read French well; 3) you have a keen interest in Hugo. If you satisfy all of the aforementioned criteria, it is a five.
