Very hot day, nice little village in the National park, unusual tomb like stores, you could make a good horror movie here with the unusual grain dryers

Lindoso has a special atmosphere, not the least because of the granaries, you can see them in several villages but here you perhaps see the most of them. Close to the Spanish border.

Lovely, lovely, lovely! This is amazing, very beautiful and full of meaning on these lands. I went there with some friends and we had a very nice time. I only felt they could have more information!

Adjacent to Lindoso Castle is a wonderful array of 17th & 18th century granite granaries – one of the best such collections in Portugal. These granite structures, raised on short columns, would have been used to store grain and corn but most are now locked...More

We stopped at Lindoso and the granaries are fascinating. The bases are all the same shape with stems sized to stand on sloping ground, very clever.

These are interesting because they are typically Portuguese and we have nothing else like it in the UK.

This is one of the WOWS!! of Portugal and should be declared a Unesco Heritage site. It is so impressive, so unique, so surprising. From a short distance, it looks like graves. Once you get closer you realize that this are small granaries.

Worth a trip up to near the border with Spain some of these granaries with the little crosses on top are very well preserved. They can be seen dotted around Northern Portugal but often in peoples back yards where they are difficult to view close...More

They look like coffins and it can feel like you're walking through an above-ground cemetery, but the "espigueiros" of Lindoso (and other parts of the north, especially Soajo) are a beautiful photo opportunity.
