I am a professional climber and International mountain guide and I have seen it all, and I can surely claim that Khustup is the prettiest mountain region in Armenia. In my 20 days trip to Armenia I visited all the mountain regions in the country from N to S to E to W and Khustup region impressed me the most. The hike is moderately challenging and should be easy by any standards. You can start from Kapan and reach the village of Nafcha in 3 to 4 hours hiking, or might hire a off road vehicle. Then camp at the meadow above the village and from there to the summit of Khustup and back. It would normally take 6 - 7 hours up and down from Nafcha. And you can surely do it in a day trip from Kapan too, but I recommend that you take a tent and spend couple of days in this beautiful region. The trail is well defined. There are two main water points, one right next to the camp ground above Nafcha and another one around an hour up right on the hiking trail. It would be great winter climb too and perfect for paragliding.

Mt. Khustup is a beautiful mountain visible from Kapan. A group of friends and I hiked it in a total of 7 hours, you can definitely get to the summit and back in a day. We started at the Ark base camp which we got to via an off road vehicle. It is a relatively easy hike and the views are totally worth going! You can also camp on the mountain, but be warned because it will get cold at night.

Very nice mountain close to Kapan. But bring water with you there is little spring on the way, but during the summer can be dry. First part of trail is mostly flat and last 10 km is steeper but beautiful. Highly recommended.

Khustup is a mountain located in the southern Syunik Province of Armenia, to the south of Kapan city. Mount Khustup is one of the most beautiful, magical & unforgettable summits in the territory of Armenia.
Be prepared for a 2-3 days hiking (food, water, stamina); take warm clothing as the weather might change all in a sudden.
Stay tuned! Stunning views are awaiting you! You will hardly be able to control your emotions!
