Splendid old church
Apr 2019 • Business
There is so much to recommend this church. Today it was nearly full for the St George’s day parade. There is still plenty of room at the front for activities and total involvement. Other times a small group in the side chapel can feel equally comfortable. The history and fabric of the church have been carefully recorded to reflect the amazing history of this special building

Beautiful church

The church is lovely, makes an ideal location for weddings and attending church services. I have photographed this many times, the grounds are beautiful. Well worth a visit if you are in the village area. Able to park next to the church.

Lovely little village church and cemetery. The graveyard and church are both very well looked after and very peaceful. A great way to step away from the hustle and bustle of modern life a get a quick recharge.

A lovely old English village church

Next to an old Archbishop's Palace, the church is at the heart of the village, in a pretty setting by a meadow, The hushed interior doesn't disappoint, with hand-made woodwork, masonry and tiles. Stop by to see it, if you get a chance.

A beautiful corner of England

As you walk upto the Church you can feel yourself stepping back in time. Through the large wooden doors in to the cool, surprisingly light church. The tiled floor adding to the echo of your foot steps. Take a pew and enjoy in quiet contemplation. For get the hustle and bustle of everyday life and absorb all that this has to offer. You will not be disappointed.

What a beautiful church and the hub of this lovely village
May 2016 • Family
Charing church is surrounded by green and quaint buildings dating back centuries. It's very picture postcard and a must visit for overseas visitors passing through.

The people of Charing are very welcoming and the sense of community is reflected by all of the events and things going on throughout the year.

Sunday services are just lovely, even if you aren't a regular church goer.

A delightful old church
Nov 2015 • Solo
Entry to this cross-shaped church is via a large porch and wooden doors.
The floors are tiled and there are plenty of old pews
Inside there are plenty of plaques to look at; a mixture of plain and coloured glass large windows, a stone font, two huge candelabras hanging from the ceiling and an impressive wooden-strutted ceiling.
There is a large chapel near the alter in which there are candles to light and a prayer book.
The church is located in a central position of this old, historic village and is worth a visit.

Worth a visit

This is a beautiful church with a lovely sense of peace & tranquility. The roof is stunning with engraved beams & wonderful stained glass windows. We met the church warden who gave us a tour & history of the church. Plus we were also given a tour of the barn which host all of the communities activities .

Superb ancient beams
Feb 2013 • Family
The Church is usually open, which is rare these days.
Look out for the painted beams - reputedly made from a captured Spanish Armada Ship! They certainly seem to be dated as Elizabethan.
Also on the otside of the church, look carefully to the left of the porch and wooden cross, to see the faint remanents of a scratch dial. A rare (and fading) survival.
To the right of the entrance to the church/grave yard are some unusual stone graves. (They have rounded slabs above the grave and look a little like wrapped corpses?) I am no expert, but you see them occasionally in old Kent graveyards, but I can't think I've seen them else where.
