Not open yet

Not open until at least March 2021. Look at the website before going. Hopefully it will open again and not end up like the amazing dairy experience in Tatura which closed. You can still see the giant milkshake outside the Tatura dairy experience.

Tourist stop lots of cheese and a cafe
Mar 2020
There's a lot here in this shop, the best thing is the variety of cheese on offer, lots of locally made items from the Saputo dairy factory across the road, plus cheese of the world, also many souvenir items and a large cafe. Well worth the stop.

Nice selection of cheese but dining area could be much better

I have to say I’m not into things mechanical so the museum didn’t really do it for me. I went into the cafe and shop for a look. Food on display looked nice and conservatively priced but not very cheesy. I was able to sample some tiny cubes of cheese at the shop counter however not at room temperature, but really would like to have had a whole cheese tasting experience. I went out to the car to leave, then turned back to the shop again and asked if it was possible to have a cheese platter or similar. Apparently this is available in the cafe but it’s not listed on the board! They have a wine tasting area too so I expected I would be able to get my cheese plate and a nice glass of bottled wine to match with taste recommendation, but not so. All they had in the cafe for drinks was Yellowtail wine in 200ml bottles and a local sparkling 200 ml bottle which I opted for. I could choose the three cheeses I wanted on the small platter and it came laden with fruit, nuts and unfortunately burnt wafer biscuits. The cafe furnishings are very simple. I really would like to have sat in the wine/licensed area and had a nice plate of food with a nice complementary glass of wine. That said that it was very good, although I could’ve done without the peanut skins on the plate. It could be so much better here.

Do not drive past Warrnabool Cheese and Butter in Allansford

Do not drive past Warrnabool Cheese and Butter

To be honest we stopped for a comfort break but were very pleased we did.
First very clean amenities but then also a very interesting little museum that’s well worth a 3o minute investment.
Then a great shop with interesting gifts and wonderful food.
I suggest this is put on your agenda

Great cheeses, cafe average
Jan 2020
Our family of 3 enjoyed the delicious cheese tasting and bought a few favourite ones to take home. We also ate lunch at the cafe & chose the Ploughman's lunch. This was mostly delicious but there wasn't much bread so we ordered more. They charged us $2:50 for a soft white roll (the sort you'd buy for 60 cents). Then we ordered scones with cream and jam but there wasn't much cream. Surprising considering all the dairy available in a cheese factory! Overall, the cheeses were great but the cafe could have been better.

A nice place to stop at

I was visiting Warnambool info Center when I found out about cheese world. Who doesn’t like cheese? So we headed down, found some awesome old tools, pictures of cars, car models and vintage home appliances. The best part was each part of the exhibit had little signs with QR code’s to find out more about the given piece of history. My favourite was an audio clip online of a gramophone, as I have never seen one in person. I’m glad I stopped here, it was very informative.
