After driving on the Transfagarsan, I wasn't sure what to expect, I did not think I was going to match the experience. However, Transalpina Road was just as beautiful and offered an awesome experience. To begin, it is a much longer road that crosses a few counties (judete). We started in Alba and drove through Sibiu, Valcea and Gorj before... More

View like in heaven, heavenly road, air from God, the rest u must enjoy it! Just a small advice: drive all the road, from Novaci to Sebes, in both ways, u'll be astonished every time! I drive on this road every year in the last 3. Another small advice: if u take a brake in Ranca or on the top... More

We drove before on Transfagarasan, another beautiful road in Romania and we were looking forward to our journey on Transalpina. We were not disappointed...The views of the Carpathians are amazing, everything is green and the air is amazingly fresh. Climbing higher and higher on the windy road we felt like we were on top of the world. If you plan... More

I thought the Transfagarasan was the best we'd done till we hit The Transalpina. Don't get me wrong, these are 2 very different roads so The Transfagarasan is brilliant. But The Transalpina - wow! Given the choice to ride one or the other it would have to be the Transalpina but why worry as you can do them both. The... More

I was expecting it will be great (following Top Gear's opinion...), but it's really awsome. I was about to say it's most beautiful road I've seen, but next day we've traveled to Transalpina.... So, this one is a must see but remember not to miss Transalpina as it's even more stunning!

"Transfagarasan: world's best road trip according to Top Gear" but they still have not reached Transaplina Road ( or King Road). The road was built under King Carol II and rebuilt during World War II by German troops and it is called The King's Road by the locals. The road has its highest point at the Urdele Pass, where the...
