Looking for something to do on a Sunday morning and found this place on Trip Advisor. About 1.5 hours from Melbourne. Once off the Hume beautiful journey to get here. Arrived at 11.30 and had the tour personally by Andrew. It was fascinating and he is obviously a steam enthusiast that's living the dream. Then came the train journey up... More

Just a terrific little spot along the Goulburn Valley Highway. Full of character and history. Andrew & Jennifer have collected quite a few rail antiques & collectibles from all over the place and they continue to maintain the rail, the museum and locomotives with dedication and passion. Definitely worth a visit and a ride along the railway to the summit......you'll... More

We phoned and booked our carriage for 4. Our sons are 3 year olds. Andrew and Jennifer are wonderful hosts. We brought our tickets and the waited for the train to leave, was allowed photos in the engine carriage and the kids were engaged. Was a lovely family outing.

It was a dull Sunday morning and we were a bit doubtful about this visit. Should we? Should we not? Well, it was well worth the time. Arriving at a real station, buying train tickets at the small station. Had tea and buiscuits. Train arrived with a toot and a whistle. Because it was cold and it started to rain... More

We gave them very little notice to accommodate 35 adults and kids. No dramas. The weather cleared up in the afternoon (Jennifer said it would!) and it was an absolute highlight to what was a great family weekend. It is fascinating and just plain pleasant. Do yourself a favour Melbourne and get up there.

What a great find! This miniature railway has been lovingly built and the engines and rail-cars restored with passion. The single track offers extraordinary views of the region to be equally enjoyed by adults and children. We had under 5s with us who were given the chance to switch the tracks and a month later, still talking about the experience.... More

Occasionally, we all stumble across hidden gems around Victoria. Kerrisdale Mountain Railway is one of those. Located just out of Seymour, KMR brings out the kid in all of us. The fantastic train-ride, the breathtaking view and the attitude of the extremely knowledgeable and pleasant owners makes it a perfect place for a family visit. Highly recommended! Combined with one of the attractions around (Yea, or one of the place Andrew recommends) is a great day out.

We had a large group of 35 spend the day at Kerrisdale Mountain Railway as a private event... and had a wonderful day! Jennifer and Andrew were wonderful hosts and ensured we had the perfect time. The railway is loving maintained and the history obvious. The weather was perfect, the view magnificent, the railway well worth it. Highly recommended!
