A "must to see"
Sep 2017 • Family
This church is something different from the standard ones. It is beautifully decorated, the glass windows, as well as the frescoes are extraordinary.
Unfortunately it is not always open, so you need some luck to look/get in.

A missed opportunity
May 2017 • Couples
Little did we realise what we missed when we walked passed this small well kept white church in Zebegeny recently, the opportunity to view what I have read has the most stunning and heavily decorated interior with frescoes and stain glass windows. All I can say is don't miss it, a gem of Hungarian architecture and history.

This is the most beautiful Church I have ever seen
Aug 2016 • Friends
This place is on the hills among pretty panoramic views and both inside and outside is very beautiful. It is painted all over , there's no feeling of a strict religion watching over you - It's walls are painted in vivid colors and the religious scenes look like a cartoon. It gives a feeling of a miracle happening around you. I said my most cherished wishes there :)

Very Unique Architectural Gem!!!
Aug 2015 • Family
This church is a rarity and images of it can be found in any book on Hungarian church architecture. The chief architect Kos Karoly was one of the fathers of Hungarian "organic" architecture. The church, dedicated Our Lady of the Snows, is an amzing example of how early Art-Nouveau architecture can reflect and be in complete harmony with the natural world surrounding it. The inside of the church is a cavalcade of Hungarian "Secessionist" art and shows the conversion of Constantine the Great, and the finding of the Relics of the true Cross, by St. Helena. These are scenes relatively rarely depicted in Roman Catholic churches, further making the building unique. The wall paintings also reflect the lush vegetation of the surrounding countryside and the Danube River.
The village itself is well worth a visit (day trip) having a great newly built look out, from where you can see the the whole area, and the recently restored Trianon Peace Treaty Memorial. There is a beach where one can relax or swim, and a small island (need at least a canoe) that are worth visiting.

Short visit to Zebegény a beautiful village at the Danube
Oct 2013 • Couples
We spent a short day trip at the beautiful Zebegény. The location is about 1 hour drive or train from Budapest. The village is very nice You can visit a couple of interesting things like the catholic church - Havas Boldogasszony - on the main square or the house of the famous painter Szonyi Istvan. The church has been built based on the plans of the famous hungarian architect Karoly Kos. The inside wall paintings are very nice. There are a few nice, but not expensive restaurants as well. We enjoyed the nature and the shore of the river too.
