Amazing waterfall the surroundings are beautiful and we had a nice swimm in the pool. The walk to the fall can be abit challenging but just take it steady and you will be fine 🙂

Long walk with kids - stunning!
Nov 2019 • Family
Did this walk with two small children who, after a while, insisted on being carried. So this charming walk turned into SAS selection!!!

There really are some stunning natural features to be wondered at along the path to the falls - particularly the stone shelves and disused mines.

There’s free parking near the entrance and a couple of pubs. Which we didn’t get to go in as the children wanted to go home. If I could get a good babysitter I’d have lunch at the pub, do the walk, pint in the other pub then home. Perfect!!!!!

fantastic waterfall up stream from lady falls. to get here you follow through paths and the occasional river crossing, can be slippery so advise good footwear, good trainers should be ok. it's about 800m from lady falls. near the einion falls itself their is a very tricky bit a steep hill path on the right, takes you 30/40metres through a cliff hanging pass where you need to concretate. you can avoild this by keep walking along the river. once at the falls its just magical and its possible to have it to yourself. to actually get right up to the falls your need to swim cos it is deep. really worth the effort.

A slightly tricky walk, worth the effort
Jul 2017
My partner and I decided to visit Sgwd-yr-Eira this summer, after enjoying a quick swim we followed along the river to see where it ended up, rather than taking a path we just trekked through the water and had no idea what ti expect as we enjoyed the breathtaking views. By chance we found ourselves at Sgwd Einion Gam. What a fantastic spot - we had a swim to the falls for a better look and a student visiting from abroad snapped a picture of us sitting under the falls. A fantastic day, i'd recommend some good boots and if you're going in the summer and feel brave (and you're a strong swimmer) I recommend taking a dip - Honestly I think this little adventure was one of the highlights of my whole summer

Visit whilst it was in full flow.

I went a visited the Sgwd Einion Gam fall today whilst we have all the snow melt to raise the water levels.
First off if you're thinking of visiting this fall plan it carefully as it's rarely walked compared to the lower falls. This is not signposted and there is not a proper path.
There are 2-3 river crossings to undertake and a very loose and steep goat path to navigate high along a hillside.

Apart from the mentioned dangers it is a beautiful fall to go see. I would recommend a summer visit to get all the colours and lower water levels (today I had crotch high water to wade through).

Once I was there it did not disappoint. Normally you will see it cascading 60ft down the rock face however today it was coming down in full force. I was unable to get across the river to get a better shot today because of the depth and ferocity of the water flowing across.

Overall a breathtaking visit and well worth the effort. However I would recommend a summer visit to get the best from it.

A beautiful hidden gem!

Not the easiest of places to get to - a number of crossings across the river but well worth the effort. The waterfall was spectacular in beautiful unspoilt surroundings.

Hard to get to from the top of Scwd Gwladus up the river bed on the east side of Scwd Gwladus, in a very narrow steep sided gorge so you will have to cross the river Pyrddin by the footbridge just above the confluence with the river Neath. I do not know of any other way, and you have to walk up the river bed. This is quite a high fall and best seen in my opinion frozen solid. Try and find a local guide.

Sgwd Einion Gam waterfall. Lovely but hard to reach.
Oct 2014 • Friends
The waterfall is a hidden gem, but tricky to reach. If you head for Sgwd a Eira falls from the Angel pub in Glyn neath, then at Sgwd Eira follow the path to the top of the falls, at the top of the falls turn right and follow the river upstream.
Note you'll have to cross the river several times so do not attempt this walk unless the river is low.
Keep following it upstream and you come to the falls after a mile or so, the easiest way up onto to the rock slab in front is on the right side.
It's a bit of a pain to get to but well worth the walk.
