Atmosphere not so good and trout too easy to catch

The place is a bit run down and could do with some landscaping. We were never told the difference between the big pond and the smaller ones. Went to a smaller one and caught a... read more

I am 11 years old and I went with my mum. We had a wonderful time and trout was fresh and tasty. Staff were supper friendly and had a great time. Fish can be a bit pricey if you catch more then 3 fish. My suggestion fish in the back river behind the ponds. Best place to fish! Overall very... More

We caught an Atlantic salmon from the farm and cook at home. It is totally different from the fish I buy from Coles. Supermarket salmons look much more red and they are so soft while the farm salmons look just light pink and their fresh is harder. I wish I had caught more salmon from the farm. Kids love to... The place is a bit run down and could do with some landscaping. We were never told the difference between the big pond and the smaller ones. Went to a smaller one and caught a trout within 30 secs. Each one you catch you have to pay $20 to get it gutted and you cannot throw them back. If you... More

I took two of my children (5 and 7 years old), to the farm and we all had a great time. We received some sound advice from the friendly attendant: - First take the kids over to the challenge pond and stay there until they start getting bored. - Then take them over to the Brook Trout area so they... Fun day out for all ages. There's a huge play area for kids where they can easily spend hours playing then with short walk there are the several fish ponds where we could choose which type of fish we wanted and start fishing in that pond. We choose salmon and with a minute we caught a 1.7kg fish which we... More

Has been here couple of time in 2014. The experience was acceptable. We came back today 27.11.16 It is a horrible experience. Entrance fee is $7.50 each person including fishing rod, bait and bucket. Not bad. Concession $6 not including student! Checking out for Bbq Most of them are old and dirty! It was really hard to find one that... More

Today in the afternoon we arrived at the Australian Rainbow Trout Farm in the Dandenong's. The time I had with my dad was great. There where multiple small pools to choose different Trout from as well as a large pond. The environment was magnificent and was exactly what we needed to get out of the city. When we turned up... We visited the trout farm last weekend and just loved it. Having never caught a fish before it was exciting to finally have one on the end of my line! We didn't use any of the picnic facilities so can't comment on them but the families who were picnicking seem to be very happy. Because you are guaranteed of catching... More
