Fantastic Experience
May 2019 • Family
Went to Gilcrux Springs with my 10 year old for his first fishing experience. The owner met us and was extremely helpful and ensured we were set up correctly. He caught a fish with his first cast! Great few hours fishing, caught our dinner. We'll priced, would highly recommend.

Great all round trout fishery
Oct 2018
Trout reared at the fishery. The small lakes/ponds are natural spring fed and offer either fly fishing only or bait fishing only. Plenty of fish are always stocked and some are quite large. Due to the natural spring water these fish, of all sizes are fantastic eating. A friend from Bristol with 25+ years fly fishing experience rated the taste among the best he's caught. Due to the nature of the lakes and size they are also ideal for beginners or youngsters because long casting is not a necessity to catch here.

The Beeches Caravan Park
Jun 2016 • Couples
I had to put the Trout Fishery on as a heading as it doesn't recognise the Beeches Caravan Park, but it is the Caravan Park which is the subject of my review. The caravan park has been going since 2008 that we know of because that was when we first went there. Anyway the caravan site is run by Mr Henry Airey who is a lovely man whom we have known since 2008, he runs the caravan site on his own with help from people who clean the caravans for him. We have just had a lovely week with Henry and the people who are on the site, Hal and Andrea of The Barn Bistro which we frequented every night, Henry also runs a shop and Post Office on site with a very nice lady called Catherine who runs the Post office part, we order our newspapers at the beginning of the week and Henry collects them from Dearham, a small village nearby, and we collect hem from the shop. Nothing is a bother to Henry, he is available literally 24/7 and you couldn't meet a nicer man anywhere. I had a slight knock on the way from home where I had to get the AA out, the AA man fixed up my problem but there was still a slight knock I could hear and Henry contacted a local man called John who fixed it for me very reasonably and advised that I saw my repair man at home when I got back so I was able to come home happy in the knowledge that I would make it safely, which I did thankfully. We will be going back to see Henry and everyone hopefully in the future but I thought I would sing their praises in the meantime.
