Visited with my friend as a treat, met by Celia and Blanco and tour was truly EXCELLENT from start to finish, very knowledgeable about the vineyard and explained everything we wanted to know and we toured every part of this BEAUTIFUL place.
Tasted 5 stunning wines with cheese, meats and breadsticks and the view and atmosphere was just incredible.
We purchased some wines for our onward journey in Spain and I really could not recommend this visit highly enough it really was the most fantastic few hours.
Thank you all for a wonderful day but mostly to Celia you really were AMAZING.

This afternoon, I had the pleasure of meeting Araceli and Martin, a couple who own a small organic vineyard, Bodega Kieninger, outside of Ronda. Araceli invited me to stop by this early evening, knowing I was only one person and couldn’t make it until well after typical visiting hours. I was able to visit and spend one-on-one time with her, as she kindly walked me around and explained much of the history, grapes, and methodology.

Her husband Martin, born and raised in Austria, relocated here to the Ronda area and turned his hobby of winemaking into a full-time affair. Their vineyard is fully organic, relying on methods such as fermented milk and mites to tackle problems such as fungus and spiders. They produce around 10,000 bottles a year (compared to Doña Felisa, around 175,000), and they utilize grapes from Austria, France, and Spain.

One my favorite things is the fact that they named their wine white after one of their dogs, Blanco, who they rescued two years ago (pictured below, obviously).
I really enjoyed their wine (well actually all of their wines, but this one especially), their 2015 “7 Vines”, which is a blend of two kinds of Austrian grapes: Blaufraenkisch and Zweigelt. And yes, of course, I left with some good bottles to take home.

We visited this lovely place last week. We being my wife Eve and friends Paul and Suzi.
We were met by the delightful owner Martin who gave us a bespoke tour around his vineyard and winery.
We were accompanied by his two friendly dogs on a relaxed walk around the vineyard and were educated about the issues involved in harvesting his grapes ,their characteristics, when to harvest and the types of grapes he grows.
We then accompanied him down to his winery and wine cellar were the wine kegs are kept for up to a year before they are bottled.
This was then followed by a very informative tasting of the four types of red wine on offer for sale. This was accompanied with a generous helping of very good quality local cheese, sausage, berry's and chocolate.
Throughout our host Martin fielded our questions in a most informative and entertaining way. We left having bought 2 bottles of his wine. This was a delightful visit and we highly recommend this as a place to visit. The wine is first class as indeed was the whole experience. Set in a delightful setting a short distance from Ronda this is a must do for the discerning visitor to this Region.

We were a group of 6, visiting Bodegas Kieninger and Sindbad, the oenologue, showed us around the fields and the cellars with a very detailed explanation, in perfect English, of how they produce the wine.
It was clear that this is a labour of love, only 7 hectares, but 9 different grape varietees, among others 2-3 Austrian ones.
we tasted 4 wines and ended up buying much more than we had planned; the wines are outstanding!
definitely to be recommended.

Herr Kieninger is a true gentleman and scholar. Martin was gracious with his time and explanation on his varietals and how they differ from the other local vineyards . Great experience and look forward to visiting again in the near future,

We want to give thank you very much for opening the doors of his organic winery where there is much love and time commitment. And where we can see how his owner loves experimenting with different strains of wine Tintilla Rota, Garnacha, Austrian, Cabernet, etc ... We loved seeing the wonderful place that is their cellar with privileged climatic conditions and see how it feels nature and see how grateful with its natural wines with ecological certificate that we have no doubt that they are very healthy, aromatic and with a high content of antioxidants.

We were a group of almost 20 persons, and Martin Kieniger first showed us a bit around on the winefarm (cellar, etc.). Then we got to taste three of the wines (along with some cheese and cold cuts), they were all delicious. Martin was a great host. I can highly recommend visiting this wine farm!
