- roberto pGallarate, Italy2,367 contributionsBathrooms ...steepIn Andalusia every city has its Arab baths. Those from Jaen are perhaps the most famous, if you have also seen those from Granada (just to mention another city), you won't find much different. Except that here there is an extra panorama to support it. In the sense that the Arab Baths of Ronda are near the Puente Viejo, very low compared to the city's landmarks. So...it's easy to go down, but the way back up is very tiring and steep. It goes without saying that in the summer...Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 5, 2024
- Maris2,133 contributionsOld bathsNice to see how it used to be. Entrance pair euro pp Informative film in English and Spanish. It is quite well maintained and returned in old condition. Worth a visit. The walk there goes down then quite style up, in the heat a challenge and if you have difficulty walking I would definitely not recommend it.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 30, 2024
- Mary KGrand Junction, Colorado514 contributionsMost complete Arab Baths in SpainWatch the interesting video - without it, it is hard to visualize what you are seeing. The walk up and down is not good for someone with limited mobility. Otherwise, it is an enjoyable walk. You'll probably spend less than an hour there, but it helps you see how Cordoba functioned in the 13th and 14th centuries.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten October 10, 2024
- CanuckAlberta696 contributionsBanos Arabes a must in RondaDefinitely worth the hike down into the gorge bottom and the hike back up. Well preserved with good video explanation of the workings. Impressive construction and ingenuity for the era. Be sure to walk back up the north side of the gorge as there are many great viewpoints.Visited October 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten October 15, 2024
- jpete02Lansing, Michigan989 contributionsWorth a stop on a trip to RondaDefinitely worth a stop as it is a rare look at a Moorish bath in Spain. There are several rooms to explore and signs are in English and Spanish. Liked the explanatory video (in English) showing how these baths were designed and used at the time. Only 2.50 per person and should take no more than 30 minutes. Easiest way to get there is to make a left on the first street after crossing the bridge from the new town to the old town. Follow the street downhill, past the viewpoint and the Charles V gate. To the right of the old bridge is the entrance for the baths. The only downside to visiting is the walk back up.Visited November 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten November 12, 2024

We arrived on a Tuesday and it was free admission. Not sure if that was just the day or if every Tuesday it is free. We really enjoyed the video playing in the "hot room". It was a great interpretation of what life must have looked 1,000s years ago when the baths were used. It played in English every 20 minutes or so and really brought the history come to life.

We visited the Arabic Bath in February and we’re the only people there. A movie shown inside gives impressive insights on how they once were. The architecture is amazing... worth a visit and highly recommended to all Ronda visitors.

Interesting visit to the ancient Arab baths of Ronda, well preserved, worth the small cost of the ticket.
An animated film describes their operation and the methods of water supply, through a mill on a turret and a system of canals, which can then still be observed during the visit.
They are located in a beautiful garden just outside the city walls, overlooking the Puente Viejo and the Tajo de Ronda, and can be reached with a short walk (be careful, there is a steep climb to return to the centre!).

Located outside the city walls near the Arab bridge. Originally built at the end of the late 12th early 13th century. A well preserved historical complex which gives a wonderful insight into Moorish life during the 13th to 16th centuries.
There is a short video presentation which gives a good idea of the building process and how the baths were used.

Located just outside the old city and near the old bridges are the Banos Arabes, built between the 12th to 13th centuries. We walked down from Ronda and viewed the other areas of interested on our way down and back up again. A remarkable well preserved baths used by the Moors between the 13th and 16th centuries and worth a visit.

An interesting experience if you haven't been to something similar before. You get to it but taking a worhtwhile detour from the main streets of Ronda. It can be approached from the "new bridge" or an even more interesting walk is from the San Francisco barrio end.
It is small but very well preserved and presented. The leaflet gives a good summary of it's purpose and history within Ronda. There is a short video presentation within the baths. Unfortunately, the English version of the commentary wasn't working when I visited.
A charge of €4.50 is a bit steep but still worth the visit when in Ronda.

This is, in our opinion, the top attraction in Ronda. Instead of a cheap ticket you will have the opportunity to take a magical journey through the world between light and darkness. Their location is at the entrance to the former Arab quarter (medina) of Ronda, right next to the city's Arab (Roman) bridge. Their specific location at the base of the city walls was of particular importance to Muslim residents and visitors as it allowed them to cleanse the body and purify themselves before entering the city or the adjacent mosque to pray, although the latter no longer exists . An explanatory video with English translation is also shown in the evocative interior. The amazing glass windows in the ceiling of the bathrooms are much more than sources of light. Their star-shaped shape on the vaulted ceiling of the baths acts as a wonderful bridge between Earth and the heavenly dome. A must for every visitor!

This was our favorite part of Ronda! So much history and engineering. We loved learning about the baths and getting the opportunity to walk through them and imagine what they would have been like 300 years ago. We went in the early afternoon and no one else was in there. We watched an informative videos about the history and design and then walked through the baths again. The architecture and overall design was very inspiring. looking forward to seeing more sites like this one.

The baths have been excavated but were from the 13th century and are very intact still. Inside you watch a video about the history and how they worked which is fascinating and amazing that they had the skills and knowledge so long ago. The water was supplied via a Moorish water wheel powered by donkey and heated three rooms. The bath house is quite impressive and an interesting place to visit.
Really enjoyable visit

I really liked the experience here. Very well preserved and with an explanatory video that helps you fully understand how it works. In addition, the price is quite affordable (€4 general or €3 if you are a student <26 years old)

Has Trip Advisor given a WRONG situation for Baños Arabes? Trip Advisor has them close to Hotel Victoria. When I was in Ronda last year, the Baños were at the other end of town!

Qual o horário de funcionamento? Qual o preço do ingresso?
Written May 16, 2019

Gracias. Un saludo.

YES - I visited on a Monday in Aug and they were open. I'm not 100% sure if they operate separate summer & winter hours or not.
