- Luk MAgde, France14 contributionsSite of the vertiginous bridgeSuperb city to do on foot, of course the bridge to see from below. Small path to get there. It was closed for work so we took the road on foot to go almost to the foot of the bridge (it is a steep semi-paved road) You can get there by car.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten February 17, 2024
- FredahillsWoking, United Kingdom159 contributionsLovely place, but beware pickpockets!Lovely place but beware of pickpockets! Lovely place with remarkable scenery. Unfortunately as usual what comes together with popular places is people who take advantage of these situations with tourists. We got caught with the famous splattered with what we thought was bird mess and the kindly gentleman offering to help clean it off. As we were close to our apartment we declined his help but in that short space of time that we were distracted he had managed to take 2 cards. Luckily by the time I got back to the apartment I saw the 1st notification of my card being used, managed to freeze both accounts and bank was vey helpful in resolving issue. Didn’t let it ruin our day and still got out to see much more of the city. Just more aware of anyone getting too close!! Don’t let this stop you from visiting Ronda but just be vigilant.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 25, 2024
- Learn to Speak ... w13 contributionsThe most terrifying and wonderful place you'll ever seeI'm gutted I didn't have more time here. This place is somewhere I definitely want to return to. It's terrifying and stunning. It's enchanting and the history is rich. I drove up on a moped with my teen son and although it was an exciting adventure for him I was secretly terrified. The road is good but the heights are rediculous. It was also FREEZING. It was 22° in Marbella and 8° in Ronda. BE PREPARED. We found a last minute booking on Airbnb (reasonabley priced) right in the centre with a lovely lady called Irene. Her place was authentically Spanish with stunning views. This place is definitely not for people with hieght fears. I'm not that scared of much but this place did make me twitch. If love to go back on a bus or train and to be a bit more prepared. It's a buzzing little place. We also found a sunny spot on the famous bridge and listened to an incredibly beautiful guitarist play music.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten February 29, 2024
- fauno21Alcala De Henares, Spain1,274 contributionsdream cityWell, if you want to make a good visit you have to stay at least 3 days so as not to be overwhelmed or beat yourself up, maybe in 2 you will see the most important thing. There are guided tours of 1 hour 30 minutes that leave from the tourist office for €10. The old town is worth walking around quietly, visiting the gardens, the baths and of course the bridge from the mills to have a great photo. The parking is quite average, the food in the restaurants is a little expensive but of quality. We will return sometime again.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 24, 2024
- Ylva S89 contributionsBreathtaking viewsCity on the precipice in a ravine with ancient origins. City walls, breathtaking views, cool bridges, cozy narrow streets and squares and a bullring with a museum that is fun to see. The Arab baths are also well worth a visit. A nice city to spend a day in. Wear good shoes, lots of ups and downs and bumpy cobblestones.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 28, 2024
- HughBridgend, United Kingdom15 contributionsWorth a visit 👍🏻What an amazing structure you get to see if you are fit enough to make the walk down to the foot of the valley or have a vehicle. Ronda itself was friendly and reasonably priced. The food we had in a cafe up one of the side streets was absolutely stunning and half the price of the main road cafes and bars. I always aim for the cafes that are full of locals. You may not always get exactly what you think youve ordered but you always get delicious food at reasonable prices. We used the Damas bus from Malaga bus station to get there and back. Easy to book online, punctual and efficient. Took about 1hr 45mins. Make sure you take a coat as it’s 10c cooler in Ronda. If you’re in the Costa del Sol region I would put this on a place to visitVisited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 29, 2024
- Bianca S56 contributionsBeautiful town with lots of touristsRonda is famous for its spectacular bridge, which also brings a lot of tourists. We were recommended to enter the Don Bosco Museum. From there you can take great pictures without getting stepped on by the crowd of tourists. The bullring is also great. Here you have a fantastic view from above (if you want to save the 10 euro entrance fee) if you go up to the 4th floor of the Hotel Catalonia Ronda. On the rooftop you can look at the arena from above while enjoying a delicious cold drink. That was enough for me.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 12, 2024
- Michael BCharlotte, North Carolina16 contributionsThe Most Visually SpectacularWe visited the town of Ronda in mid April. I think this was a GREAT time to go. The tourist crowds were modest. The air was cool and the sun was warm. I understand that it gets quite hot in the summer. The views were spectacular (please see photos, un-edited with my cellphone). History dating back to the Knights Templar.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 15, 2024
- MaytèVicenza, Italy318 contributionsA wonderful, ancient cityRonda is a wonderful ancient city, founded in the 9th century, perched on the El Tajo gorge. Many famous people, such as Hemingway and Dumas, were fascinated by this location, the capital of a small independent state until the Christian Reconquista of 1485. In addition to admiring the gorge with its three bridges, it is absolutely worth visiting the original Arab village called La Ciudad, clearly separated from the modern city. Ronda is also famous as the home of bullfighting and has a beautiful bullring. If you leave from the tourist office, you can join guided tours (10 euros each). If you want to have lunch or dinner, avoid overly touristy places, especially near the new bridge!Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 22, 2024
- RHtravelsRocky Hill, Connecticut858 contributionsBeautiful views in every directionThere is more to Ronda than a beautiful bridge and the first bull ring. Each street had me oohing and aahing at every turn....beautiful doorways, arches, churches, alcoves, etc..We had fun exploring on our own with some free time from our tour group. We would like to come back on our own so we have more time to eat and see the town at night.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 22, 2024

Inhabited since pre-Christian times, by Celts and Phoenicians, the city of Ronda is located within the Sierra de las Nieves National Park. Built at an altitude of 740 meters, it has always been a strong point of defense for the hinterland. The river Guadalevín divides it in two, as the deep gorge it forms is bridged by three beautiful stone arched bridges, the most famous of which is the iconic Puente Nuevo. Its privileged position offers the visitor many points of impressive panoramic view. Its historic center is warm and extremely atmospheric. It has many interesting historical and religious sites, with a highlight, in our opinion, being the Arab Baths, which are low and just outside the city walls, but worth a little time for a landmark visit for your passage through Ronda.

One of our main destinations in the Andalusian region besides Granada and Cordoba. We visited him using a daytour service from Seville. This series of daytours besides aronda visits two other villages namely Zahara and Grasalema. Ronda could be called a small town rather than a village. This small town is on top of a hill.
The main destination in Ronda is of course to see the bridge that is above the abyss and valley, quite spectacular. Photos of this bridge that appear in brochures or promotions of the city of Ronda.
Besides, we also passed through the bull's arena but we didn't go in.

We were here over 20 years ago and not much has changed except the size of the city which has grown considerably. The old town area is always bustling and now you pay a small fee to walk down below the bridge. The drive to and from is also lovely. Worth stopping in for a few hours .

Stay away from tourist information attraction ticket sales…..low quality attractions, rip off. One of the attractions closed for august and we weren’t told until we got there.
Town was nice and worth seeing bullring was really good, everything else felt like a tourist trap very pricey. Wouldn’t stay in area as not much to do.
Tried the tapas at du-vin Italian and was very good.

Very pretty, spectacular. I give it one star for the project that is going to destroy the heritage around the Tagus and the Bridge and which consists of making an elevated platform attached to the walls of the Tagus and even the Bridge itself, imitating the Caminito del Rey but without any justification or legitimation historical or ethnographic. Evidently they do it only for the money they will earn from charging for walking down the catwalk.

First stop on a tour in Andalusia in this small town.
The view from El Tajo is very suggestive and takes your breath away, the Plaza de Toros is impressive.
The walk along the walls with the spring blooms is very beautiful and pleasant with these temperatures. The pedestrian street that runs through the town is full of shops, restaurants and places where you can have a drink.
For us it was a stopover but in my opinion it would be worth stopping for a couple of days to be able to visit everything better.

One of the stand-out destinations of our tour of Andalucia.
The combination of historic buildings and exceptional scenery across the hills made this a very memorable part of our holiday in Andalucia.
Plenty of shops and restaurants too, if needing a brief respite from the spectacular views and history.

Town declared as one of the most beautiful in Spain. Very turistic. The entrance to its monuments is really expensive. The bullring is one of its icons, as well as the Moor's house and its bridges are some of the must-see things. Large commercial area. Recommended to spend a day visiting this town. Currently the descent to the viewpoint of the new bridge is cut off due to construction.

We hired a car and drove from Marbella to Ronda. Stunning scenery en route up the windy roads across the mountains. It took about 1.5hr. On arrival to the old city, the cobbled streets are lined with people and bustling activity.
Parking is all underground and easily accessible.
The square when we arrived had a cannonball run of old vintage cars. Great to see these.
Horse drawn carriages take tourists along the old castle walls and streets.
The castle views out to the Olive goves below are phenomenal.
Walkways lead people across the old bridge and viaduct and you can choose to take cobbled walkways down under the viaduct.
There are lots of streets with shops and bars and cage culture is strong here.
My advise, just go .. its worth it!

Could anyone advise is best get bus from malaga airport direct to Ronda or from city centre if so where ? Thank you
Written August 18, 2019
You need to get the airport bus to the city centre and from the bus station you get a bus to Ronda with the bus company Damas. The journey takes 1.5 hours.
