Trails are not marked at all. There are cow trails, donkey trails, people trails, mining trails... some end up in the same place some don't. Really easy to get lost and there doesn't seem to be any effort to mark trails or make it easier...More

I highly recommend Los Amigos de Huayhuash and the 9 or 10- day circuit of the Cordilleras Huayhuash. My son and I trekked with brothers Abner and Adolfo. Sister Anamine assisted by meeting us when our bus arrived in Huaraz and helping out during our...More

Amazing views and air in 4000-5000m. A full circuit will be ~130Km and will take about 10 days if you really want to enjoy, observe, absorb. Many Huaraz operators help with all logistics, including carrying luggage by donkeys, setting up camp every afternoon and cooking...More

Walked this independently over 8 days in April. Nice time to walk as the area is green, wildflowers are blooming and there are fewer people on the track. The mountains are truly stunning, and the locals generally very friendly. I experienced no issues with safety...More

We did the Huayhuash Circuit in May 2017. Dogs in Peru, in general, are unspayed/neutered and roam free. We met lots of dogs in the Huayhuash, and none were aggressive; some were friendly; some were very shy. I love dogs... More
