About
At a stone throw away from Mont-Blanc Les Saisies is a beautiful family resort. Our village is located at 1650m in Savoie Mont-Blanc. In winter you can ski on Espace Diamant which is 192km of slopes, or enjoy cross country on a wonderful area of 120km or even walk on our pedestrian and snowshoe tracks. In summer you will find here everything you need: lots of activities, great sceneries, gastronomy, French way of life... Here you will find amazing other activities: mountain twister, snowmobile, snow groomer outings or drive, dog sledging, Mountain biking, fat biking, sports center with swimming pool, bowling, paragliding, adventure park, mountainboarding, wellness, horse riding, game park, events, entertainments... for all the family from Grandparents to children. Beaufortain is an authentic, preserved and breathtaking country. Here, in Les Saisies, everybody speak English but we keep our Savoy accent.

The snow was amazing during our visit. We also had glorious sunshine every day. There is so much skiing. Lots of cruisy blues, some interesting reds and a few blacks. A few green runs to get your confidence. Lots of skiing through the trees. Well maintained chair lifts. Lovely mountain restaurants. Lots of fun things for kids.
The Espace Diamant area is huge and you couldn’t expect to see it all in a week.
There is also lots of mountain walking and cross country skiing. The accommodation is mainly self catering.

My wife and I have regularly visited this station for the previous 3 seasons, and have no big complaints. Many consider it a 'beginners' resort - but as 'intermediate' skiers, we find it has a nice balance of easy (primarily) and challenging slopes - particularly if you upgrade your pass to the full Espace Diamant. The best thing about the resort is the incredible views of the Mont Blanc.

Quite inexpensive, and very quiet in the mornings and (particularly) on Saturdays. Being a more family oriented resort, be prepared for many groups of young skiers snaking their way down the slopes.

Parking is generally OK (e.g. at Le Signal) if you arrive early, but can get difficult to find a spot later in the day.

Came for a cross country ski trip since the snow in the Jura was nonexistent . Great snow at Les Saisies and really excellent grooming for skating. Nice terrain- challenging and great views of Mont Blanc from up top. Fun to be on Olympic grounds

Plenty of wide and gentle slopes which are ideal for families with kids. The gentle slopes, combined with a snowy micro climate also mean that snow conditions are often very good in Les Saisies.

Les Saisies is a great area for alpine skiing and cross country together with good walking trails for non skiers.
The standard lift pass covers a large area of varied Pistes, many for beginners and intermediates. Purchase the Espace Diamete and the area you can ski is amazing. Many areas in the resort have a fantastic view of Mont Blanc.
Good range of shops and restaurants
Try the bread and cakes at the Chocolatiere ( oh and their chocolates!!)

Thank you very much for your comment. We are glad that you enjoyed our resort. We hope to welcome you again next year and perhaps even before (it's also very beautiful in summer). Our pastry bakeries are among the best in the region.

Brilliant family friendly ski resort only 1.5hrs away from Chambery airport.

Pros:
Easy to navigate ski resort.
Pretty Alpine resort.
Excellent snow record due to the proximity of Mont Blanc.
The most suitable resort for beginners we’ve visited.
Most accommodation is very close to the pistes.

Cons:
Could have a few more challenging runs.
Some very slow chair lifts.

Tips:
Pre-book restaurants before you arrive, they’re very busy.
For drinks and snacks visit The Bar Bar. Very friendly staff and fair prices.
Avoid the bowling alley. Very unfriendly / ignorant staff and ridiculous prices for food and drinks.

Thank you for your comment. Maybe you have been to the Bowling last year? This winter all the team is new and the problems you mention seem to be solved.

We have been skiing ere for the past 15 years .We love that it is still mainly French .The resort still remains full of the French way of life .I love how the children come from school and learn to ski. Very family orientated. If the weather is not perfect for skiing then you can always put your boots on and go for a walk . The views are magnificent ,especially Mont Blanc.

The resort is at pretty low altitude so beware of the weather and time of the year
The domain is made of different substations but connections are not easy at all. Slopes are mostly short and the lift are all old (not even cabins) so during hols there's a lot of waiting.
The plus is that a lot of slopes are in the forests and the view is superb.
It's mostly fit for beginners and/or parents of young/beginner children.

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for you comment. We have a modernization program of our lifts with brand new equipments. This takes time and money so we have to spread the investment over several years. Best regards

The last time that we were at Les Saisies was 27 years ago, and it has changed some. Much more built up than it was, but still a great family ski station. The prices are great. Our grandson flew from the USA and even with the cost of his ticket, it was cheaper than skiing in Colorado!! We've always liked this place.
