Lovely long walk if you follow the black trail took us a good hour and a half 2 hours. Lovely river well looked after would highly recommend. You do need to book before you go so be warned

Lovely few hours at Fairhaven
Sep 2021 • Couples
Lovely few hours at Fairhaven, easy to book online and young chap on arrival gave a useful map and a couple of doggy poo bags also advised about the blue algae (dangerous for dogs) and clear instructions on walking route. As it had been raining we were warned about some potential water logged areas but did not have a problem. Lots of good, clear signage with different routes/length of walks available and nature notes. Lots of bear carvings along route- I think for the children’s map? Very dog friendly with water en route with dog bowls.

Cafe with nice snacks and coffee.

Nice to just enjoy some nature.

Get near to nature in these woodland walks
Sep 2021
This woodland has walks threaded through it and along the way there are lots of places to sit and take in the views across the many waterways and through the woodlands. There are formal hides too to sit and watch the wildlife.

Enjoyable day
Sep 2021
I had to hire a mobility scooter , due to my poor mobility. It only cost £5 , but it was worth the money as I was able to see the woods and lakes. Very enjoyable day. The young man at the reception desk was very helpful. Cheaper to book online before you go.

Peaceful and relaxing
Sep 2021 • Couples
This was a great morning in a peaceful woodland. Strategically placed bird feeders were bringing in willow tits, great tits and nuthatches. We also saw a shrew and some mice feeding on the food below a bird feeder.
Overall, a lovely time and very relaxing.
Good for kids too, if they want to take part in a bear hunt!

day out with family
Sep 2021
We had been here before in 2018 and had a lovely time then. This time of visiting we were equally impressed, firstly with the booking online, to the 1 way system, they also had some lovely new tree carvings done by talented people. Well done Fairhaven.

Superb family day out for all ages.
Aug 2021
Living in Norfolk all my life I had always planned to visit Fairhaven but never got round to it until now and I was extremely pleased that I did. I recently visited with a large family group ages varying from 3-77 and this place was a perfect day out for us all. Wonderful peaceful, natural gardens with a lot to explore and much wildlife to be seen, we were very pleased to see a water vole.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. There was a picnic area that was shared with the cafe and this suited our group well. We did not use the cafe, however looking at the menu the prices appeared very reasonable and a good variety too.
On arrival we purchased the bear trail map (only 25p!) and this amused the 3 year old, as well as his older cousins, there was even a small prize on completion. I believe there was also a wildlife trail to choose to do as well.
We will most definitely be returning in the future.

Waste of money and not child friendly
Aug 2021 • Family
What a waste of money, paid £25 to walk about a woods which we could of done for free at thetford forest. Nothing for the children to do and the boat trip which is advised isn’t running this year. The only good thing was the food but that was still over priced. Also wasn’t very pram friendly. Needs to have more activities for children.

What an adventure!
Aug 2021 • Family
We started with lunch in the tea room which was delicious, then a lovely long woodland walk but the best bit was the canoe trip we booked, Chris our guide was knowledgeable, patient, kind and funny - he took us on a real adventure! It was pretty hairy at times but we loved it!

Lovely way to spend a few hours
Aug 2021
Lovely place to while away a few hours. Very natural setting - we have never seen so many dragonflies! Pretty quiet when we went but the weather wasn't particularly great. The staff were helpful and friendly and everything we purchased from the cafe came in 100% recyclable packaging. Lovely outdoor eating area and delicious cake.
