One of the best part of neil island is its jetty..The different hues of blue gives it a mesmerizing feeling. The moment one lands here ,it feels exciting and a place worth exploring

Private and government ferries come here
Jun 2019
This is where the Private and government ferries arrive and depart. The ticketing counters are also just adjacent to the jetty.

Beautiful locale, poorly maintained jetty
Dec 2019
This is a pretty busy jetty. It can be seen from Bharatpur beach, and we could see a number of ferries coming in and going out every hour.
When you first land on Neil island, the turquoise blue waters at the jetty mesmerize you.
The jetty is, however, in a very poor shape and badly needs maintenance. The long walk on the pier (across the water) from the boarding point to the ferry is painful because the surface is so badly worn out and there are potholes everywhere. There is no safety railing as well. The metal pillars that support the pier seem to be very corroded.

Beautiful view with bad facilities.
Dec 2019
Jetty has long way to walk to reach parking area and Jetty Road is in bad condition. Just saw a parallel another road is under construction hope this will improve condition here. On the left side 500 metre away , Bharatpur beach can not be missed. Rickshaw with coolie facilities available here. Old age and children can sit on this loading rickshaw with luggage.

A simple but gigantic jetty will be more gorgeous on completion of under construction parts. Looking nice in between Bharatpur and Lakshmanpur beach this jetty triggers emotion while departing

Beautiful island, bad infrastructure
Nov 2019
Neil island is an amazingly beautiful place in the Andaman. However, the jetty is really in bad shape. We got down from our Makruz boat and then had to walk for about 10 minutes in hot sun on a narrow uneven path to get out. There is no shade for the tourists or even decent path to walk. Infra is really bad. Although they are constructing an alternate jetty path nearby. Hope its completed fast and they cover it to provide tourists shade and protection from sun and rain. Make sure you use the porter service if you have baggage to carry as the road is uneven and quite long to carry bags on your own.

Beware with small children
Aug 2019 • Family
We cruised on Makruz to reach Neil Island from Havelock. The next trip was to Port Blair. It is a narrow strip with no railing and broken at some places. Be careful with children. Porters are available for luggage. It gives a beautiful view of the blue ocean and the blue horizon.
