Wonderful grounds and stunning collection of masks and puppets. Even people who are not interested in puppets or masks will enjoy seeing these art objects. A young woman guided us through the grounds and answered questions, free of charge (we tipped her). This collection of...More

Located amongst undulating rice paddies, in the small village of Sukawati you’ll find another one of Bali’s hidden gems. Immaculately displayed in five traditional Javanese Houses; a phenomenal private collection of more than 8000 masks, puppets and marionettes depicting Indonesia’s rich cultural traditions.

We loved this place, six buildings FULL of masks and puppets, new and old, and from all around the world. It was so interesting, we were truly blown away!

This is a quaint museum, exhibiting a good collection of puppets and mask from around the region and world. Displayed well and housed in several old/antique houses. Away from the tourist route and secluded amongst paddy fields, which makes up part of its charm. Definitely...More

No cost, there is a donation box at the end but you are not asked or pushed to donate at all. It is however well worth contributing something to the upkeep of the amazing collection.

Not really - there is a small number in the small shop but it's mainly about viewing the large diverse historic collection.
