Relaxing piece of nature
Jun 2019
Walking / bike tracks are nice and loop around the wetlands.
There is a bird lookout which does give a nice view and you can spot some interesting birds if you are in luck. There are some picnic tables scattered around as well.
Nice place to go and walk in the fresh air and get some exercise while enjoying nature.

Not much to see in June
Jun 2019
We walked a loop from Eel Race Rd along Kananook Creek to Old Wells Rd where we took the Peninsula Link Trail to loop around the Seaford Wetlands section of the Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands Environmental Area. This section has the Seaford Swamp Drain running through it. The path is flat and easy to walk but only skirts the wetlands. At the southern end (near Austin Rd) there is a lookout over the area which explains its importance. There was a sign about another low level viewing area which we couldn’t find which we think is near Mona Street on the Western (beach) side. The best bird watching is between October to March so we didn’t notice many in June.

Waiting for the rains

The ephemeral wetlands have dried out and the waterbirds have moved from the Southern parts of these wetlands. Perhaps the Edithvale end has more to see. The paths around the park are still available and there is seating on which to rest.

A great place to attract birds

I can walk to this bird lookout within about ten minutes from where I live. It is lovely on a warm evening, as there is a good walking or bike riding track. The area is nice and natural with a lot of trees and bushes.

Starting at the viewing platform and heading in the direction of the Frankston Fwy follow the little path around to the left of the wetlands, you will come across Armstrong Rd at around the 1.5km mark. Another 450mtr past this there is an entrance to the wetlands, head in and take a wonder through to the other side. once you pop out here turn left and follow your nose back to were you started. Around 4.8km all up. A good little walk with the kids or walking off the night before.......

Vast, with many ducks

It is just a short walk from Seaford beach and railway station and has well made (bitumen) paths around it. While we did not find seats in our relatively short walk, we did see a viewing platform and a number of water birds species.
