For anyone with an interest in sport it is well worth doing the tour. Hosted by AIS athletes, it provides a great insight into the training and facilities. As noted by some of the contributors the facilities are a little dated, but nothing too shabby....More

Paid $20 for the tour. The good aspect was that it was hosted by an athlete who 'lived' the AIS lifestyle. Interesting for a sneak peek. Facilities were highly disappointing. So old and barren. Only the swimming pool and advanced section appeared modern. Unfortunately the...More

This was a great place to take two teenage grandchildren who both have an interest in sport. The tour and the guide we had were both excellent. It was interesting to get an insight into the depth of technology which comes into play with the...More

Paid $20 for this tour of 90 minutes. It wasn't great. The first 35 minutes were spent in Sportex, which included some simulations and interactive displays, fine for children, but for older persons too long. Strange way to start, perhaps be better at end of...More

Family all enjoyed the interactive sports and the tour. Guides were knowledgeable and engaging. We would have liked to see the place in action...but still good and interesting. Would recommend for others to enjoy.

My husband, mother and 2 children went on the guided 90min tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great behind the scenes look at the facilities and we all enjoyed the interactive Sportex floor (30 mins during your tour).

It was great seeing where Australian athletes train. Very interesting tour conducted by real athletes . Raises the question that we should spend more on training . Great facilities

I was really looking forward to going to the AIS as I thought it would boast world class facilities for some of the countries best athletes, however was disappointed to find that most of the facilities seemed dated and the place was like a ghost...More

We must have visited in the off season if such a thing? No one around, very quiet and wasn't what we expected. Took the 90min tour, interesting facts and kids enjoyed the interactive aspect but other than that, would not recommend. Much more interesting attractions...More

The tour took an hour and half. Our children particularly loved the half an hour they spent trying out sports using simulators. Our guide was informative too.

Address is Leverrier St Bruce next to the Visitor centre. Now for accomodation close by that's not an easy question. There are no motels in the complex and the closest place might be at Dickson, with the Dickson Tradies... More
