I'll be brief since there are many reviews. I was surprised by this expansive cathedral - much larger than it looks. An intriguing mix of architectural styles as the building was expanded over the centuries. A pleasant courtyard yields beautiful views of the surrounding landscape....More

This has got to be one of the most fascinating cathedrals in Europe. The main facade gives no hint of the riches within. In addition to the main space which has two stunning altars, there are numerous fine side chapels, ranging from Gothic to Baroque....More

We were spolit as we were shown around by one of the priests who explained the history of the cathedral in a very interesting way. Lots of interesting rooms off the main nave, some with amazing ceilings, when in Cuenca you must visit this building.

When approaching the cathedral via the small bridge it doesn't really look very elaborate but then the inside is, being built on the side of the main mosque right after the conquest it does show some judeo moorish pieces like the beautifully carved ceiling in...More

The architect of this church reminded me of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, France. The building is treated well and beautifully. To enter, you need to buy a ticket.

A place of beauty and tranquility. Visited as the sun streamed through the modern and old stained glass windows casting rainbows of colour throughout. Stunning. The Deep Chapel and Chapterhouse must not be missed. Amazing carved wood ceilings. The art and stone / plaster carvings...More

An enormous, almost daunting edifice. Interesting just as much for it's religious significance as for it's architecture and art inside. There is the main altar with lots of stained glass windows but equally of interest are the small chapels tucked away in different "corners" of...More

This Cathedral is like a tardis. For a small fee (€4.80) you get entry and audio phones. Well worth the money. It is stunning inside but make sure you take an extra layer of clothing as it was very cold in February despite being warm...More

We arrived at 5pm on a saturday and it closed at 7pm. It was almost empty and was a wonderful time to see the peacefulness and beauty of the cathedral. The modern stainglass windows are so unique and beautiful within the elaborate design of the...More
