If your staying in Roses and would like to take the Megalithic walk without having to drive, take the road Francesc Macià which leads up to the mountain and to the Urbanization of La Sureda, from the beach car park in the Centre of Roses.
Allow 2-3 hours for the complete walk from this starting
Point
The first small dolmen can be seen from the road Pitagores behind number 97-99 if you follow the path that leads behind the water reservoir you will soon reach the second dolmen and a few meters further along there is a very good map which can also be photographed or scanned.
From this point a few different tracks lead off, so depending on your fitness level and available time you can explore the park and enjoy the fantastic views.

Take the road from Roses to Montjoi. After about a kilometre there is a big bend in the road, and a small car park (N42º15.366 E003º11.878). There is a good stone path to the Dolmen.

I would have given this great national park a 5 stars if it had not been for the useless directions given along the way. We parked on the Monjoi road in the small car park where you see a map with 3 different coloured roads you may choose to bushwalk on. There are also numbers for dolmens and menhirs, etc you encounter on the way. We are fairly experienced bushwalkers but this time we got lost as the paths meander everywhere and change colors at uncertain crossroads. It was beautiful and peaceful and so interesting to find dolmens and menhirs and huts of stones along the way and the landscape is awesome but the maps we photographed at the carpark got us lost which spoiled our bushwalk. When I went to the tourist office in Roses to ask for a detailed map I was told to use the code bars on the few panels on the tracks. I was more or less told by the guy at the desk that I was an idiot for not using technology while I bushwalked. So if you decide to take this trip, study it well before and avoid the tourism office

We went on our electric bikes from Roses campsite and followed the route to the first point of interest then kept on going following the coast road up and around until it ran out. It's a stunning way to see the hills, menhirs and dolmens. Everything is well signed and there are new information boards to give you basic dates and information.
We kept to the road as our bikes weren't up to the alternative rougher terrain route but with a mountain bike I think the route would have been even better.

This place was not so easy to find. The sign boards suddenly stop, but we eventually figured out where the starting point was. We walked for 2 hours and only say a small section. We have seen megaliths before in Portugal but nothing so extensive. Wear good walking shoes. The paths get confusing as people seem to have made their own paths. The signs on some of the megaliths are very weather worn and almost impossible to read, but definitely worth a visit

I've done various walks multiple times in this area, with dolmens being near Roses but spreading through the Cap de Creus national park. This means there are many dolmens to find, it's wonderful. The area rewards those willing to return multiple times, try different walks and car parks, and take longer routes. But if you choose wisely you can still find dolmens within 5 minutes walk of parking your car. The walks offer breathtaking views and different flora and fauna to see throughout the year. Wear comfortable shoes, take plenty of water and snacks and be careful of the sun even on windy/overcast days.

This was a fun adventure on a warm afternoon. Be prepared for quite the hike, but the views are stunning, and the dolmens are a real treat to see if you like history. The parking area is tucked off to the side of the road, so keep your eyes open for it. We drove right past the first time. Comfortable shoes and water are a must. The climb can be a bit steep from time to time, but again, very beautiful and rewarding.
